Technique Tuesday National Scrapbook Day blog hop

Hello friends and welcome to the Technique Tuesday blog hop!  May 4th is National Scrapbook Day (NSD), and we are starting the celebration early!

For this blog hop, I made a Mom life layout!

I wanted to focus on the Sassy Day stamp set, so I had the idea to stamp them all, and turn them into labels.

First, I used some Distress Oxide inks, and ink blended pink, blue, and purple on white cardstock.  Once dry, I used the stamps, and some black ink to stamp the sassy sentiments, making sure to leave enough room to die cut labels.  Next, I used one of the label dies from the Essential Stitched Labels crafting dies set to die cut the sentiments.  I also die cut some pattern papers from Paige Evans, Maggie Holmes, and Shimelle’s collections that I had in my stash.

On a letter sized piece of white cardstock, I added some pink watercolor.  Once dry, I added the labels.  I used foam tape to adhere the sassy day stamped labels to the background.  I attached the pattern paper labels to the background with just a little bit of glue, and then I machine stitched through the middle.

I added my 2 photos with foam squares.  Next, I added a Mom Life title, and journaling strips.

Since my background is pretty busy already, I just added just a few embellishments.  I added a butterfly and puffy stickers from my stash.
