Cute Little Pumpkin, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey friends!  Today I’m sharing a layout that I created with the September 2019 Hip Kits. I was challenged to use multiple cut files on my layout, so I used 2 Hip Kit Club exclusive cut files.

I’m using this cute little photo of my 3rd daughter on her first Halloween.  When I saw the Cute Little Pumpkin cut file, I knew I had to use it with this photo.  She was only about a week old in the photo, and she’s almost 3 now, so I’m glad to have this scrapped!

I also filmed a YT process video

I cut the Cute Little Pumpkin cut file, as well as 2 more freestanding pumpkins, and I backed them with a Dear Lizzy pattern paper.

On my background, I used some Vicki Boutin acrylic paint (which was in a color kit many many months ago), and I mixed it with a little bit of white gesso to tone it down, and I did some dry brushing on my cardstock.  I really like how it brings out the texture on the cardstock.  I also added some back and forth machine stitching.

I used a couple of the HKC exclusive PL cards, one to back my photo and another for my journaling.  They were perfect for the warm color scheme I was going for.

I also embellished my layout with a lot of flowers that I fussy cut from Dear Lizzy pattern papers.  I love the sketchy vibes of the florals!  To even further the sketchy details, I used one of the florals from the Dear Lizzy stamp set, and stamped a few flowers with black ink.

I really love how my layout turned out.  Don’t forget to check out the process video for more details.  Make sure to stop by the Hip Kit Club website for the September & October kits!

This is Halloween mini album, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hi friends!  Today I’m sharing a mini album that I shared on the Hip Kit Club blog the other day.  I made my mini with the September 2019 Hip Kits.  It’s the first week of October, and I’ve got Halloween costumes on my mind…I decided to make an envelope mini album filled with photos of my girls’ costumes through the years.

To start my album, I started off by making envelopes with some of the pattern paper in the kits, as well as the blue cardstock from the Cardstock kit.  I wanted my envelopes big enough to use some of the exclusive PL cards as well as embellish, so I decided to make my envelopes 4 x 5 1/2 inches.  I used my We R MK punchboard to make the envelopes.  I didn’t realize it, but I chose a black & white and blue color scheme.  I wanted another paper to match that color scheme, so I made my own using the Dear Lizzy stamp set.  On a piece of white cardstock, I repeatedly stamped the outline floral image with black ink.  Once I filled the page, I randomly stamped the coordinating filler floral image on a few of the flowers with light blue ink.  After I made the envelopes, I put together my album by adhering the flap of one envelope into the inside of another envelope.  I will try to explain it: on your work surface, place one envelope open side up with the flap up, and the another envelope open side down, and then adhere the flap of the side down envelope to the inside of the side up envelope.  I hope that makes sense, LOL!

I loved the way my stamped paper turned out so much, I made it my cover envelope.  I fussy cut one of the journaling cards from a Dear Lizzy paper and used it as a layer on the cover.  I took a piece of vellum and adhered it to the wreath in the Pretty Little Studio ephemera pack.  I decided to add more detail by using the wreath from the Color kit and white texture paste.  I used a few more Pretty Little Studio pieces, like the cute little owl and the alpha stickers.  A few samped images using the HKC exclusive stamp set and some puffy stickers, and my cover is done!

For the next pages, I used a lot of the exclusive PL cards to back my photos and write my journaling.

I used the HKC exclusive stamp set, and embellished with the Pretty Little Studio die cut ephemera, phrase stickers from Dear Lizzy, and puffy stickers from Paige Evans.

To add interest to my mini album, I added lots of textures: I added stitching, puffy stickers, and enamel shapes.  I also added layers and dimension with foam squares.

I really love how the PL cards accentuate my photos.  They are a perfect layering piece!

I had so much fun making this mini album.  I hope you were inspired by my project, and make your own mini album.  Don’t forget to check out the September kits!

Happy Monday!

Shine Bright, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hi friends!  Today I’m sharing a layout that I recently shared on the Hip Kit Club FB page.  I was challenged to use the mood board for inspiration.  This is my last layout using the fabulous March 2019 Hip Kits.  I used a little bit of all the kits, as they coordinated so well with my project!  My daughter had an Island-themed choir concert recently, and the Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection was perfect for my layout!

Here is the Mood Board:

I was particularly drawn to the pink image with the florals lined up on the left side.

Here is my layout inspired by the mood board:

I decided to fussy cut the florals in one of the Maggie H pattern papers.  I lined them up on the left side of pink cardstock, and adhered them with foam squares for dimension.

I added 3 photos, and embellished them.  I added a few more fussy cut flowers, a butterfly (which was also on the mood board), and some typed journaling.  I also added the shells from the MH collection, and they were perfect; one of the songs the choir sang was “Pearly Shells.”

My title is a combination of the pink thickers, and the epoxy word stickers.  I really like the font on the epoxy stickers!

I finished off my layout with a little cluster of Heidi Swapp labels in the bottom right.  I added the date and the occasion.

I love love love how this turned out!  While it did take me some time to fussy cut the flowers, I love the impact they give!

I hope you are inspired by the mood board, and my layout.  Don’t forget to check out the Hip Kit Club website…the April 2019 kits are amazing!

Happy Tuesday!
