December Daily, days 17 & 20

Hello friends!

Today, I’m sharing days 17 & 20 of my December Daily album.  I am still chugging along…how about y’all?  I am going to be using the Hip Kit Club 2018 December Documented kit, as well as the 2018 December Main kit.

ahsang HKC DD17&20 7

For day 17, I documented our elf Stewart in his new outfit that we bought him.  I decided to use the packaging to make a pocket page to house all the notes to and from him.

ahsang HKC DD17&20 3

ahsang HKC DD17&20 1

I cut out a piece of the packaging to make the front part of the pocket.  For the back part of the pocket, I used one of the HKC exclusive pattern papers.  I really love both sides of this paper, so it’s perfect.  The side that faces the pocket is a red & white plaid.  On the back of the paper is a red & white whimsical, folk design, which is also perfect for an elf story.  I die cut a tag from another piece of HKC exclusive paper, the navy blue one with a white dot pattern, and I also cut out a few pieces from the Pinkfresh Studio paper. I die cut a circle from the number 17 on the Pebbles advent calendar, which I’ve been doing throughout my album, and I tied them all together with a piece of twine, and adhered it to the back of the pocket page.

ahsang HKC DD17&20 5

For day 20, I did an around the house spread.  I used the 2×2 pocket page, and the 4 3×4 page.

ahsang HKC DD17&20 2

For the left, I printed out some photos from around my house to about 2×2 inches.  I filled the rest of the pockets with puffy stickers, the Pebbles number, a sequin star, and I even made a small shaker pocket.  (I used a couple of transparencies that I had in my stash to adhere some of the embellishments to, like the stockings and number.)  On the right side, I printed out the wreaths I have, and I left a spot for journaling.  I made my own card by typing my journaling on white cardstock, and adhering some of the HKC exclusive pattern paper (this paper is my FAVE!).  My journaling says: “I have loved decorating our new home! It’s so fun pulling out all of my collected items, but super fun buying new things as well!”

ahsang HKC DD17&20 6

That’s it for now!  I hope you like my December Daily pages so far.  I am still loving this project!  I’m hoping to have this album done before the new year, but I’m not in a rush.  When I’m done, I’ll have a flip through video on my YT channel, so keep an eye out for that.

Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to check out these kits.  There are some awesome HKC exclusives!!!

Happy Sunday!

December Daily, days 12-14, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey friends!

Today, I’m sharing my days 12-14 of my December Daily album, and I used the 2018 December Documented Hip Kit.  I did sneak in a couple pieces from the 2018 December Hip Kits: a piece of HKC exclusive pattern paper from the Main kit, and one HKC exclusive project life card from the Project Life kit.

I also did a YouTube process video if you’re interested!

For day 12, I wanted to document the few movies we watch every single year.  We watch other holiday movies as well, but the ones we watch every year are Elf, Home Alone, Home Alone 2, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, and Little Women.

ahsang HKC DD12-14 1

The pattern paper is the one from the December Hip Kit.  I also used a filmstrip cut file that I found on the Silhouette store.  I love how the Elf photo, with my hand written journaling, on the left turned out!  On the empty spots on the film strip, I added my number (the Pebbles ones that I’ve been using throughout the album), and a red car puffy sticker.  I love the size of the Crate Paper puffy stickers…they are the perfect size for this project!

ahsang HKC DD12-14 4

For day 13, I documented my JOY for getting my engagement and wedding rings back from getting them resized.  I hadn’t been able to wear them for almost 2 years now; I was waiting to loose the “baby weight,” but I got tired of waiting, haha!

ahsang HKC DD12-14 2

I was challenged to use some HKC exclusive cut files, so I used this subscriber cut file designed by fellow DT member Jana.  The JOY wood veneer stickers are from Pinkfresh studio.

ahsang HKC DD12-14 5

Day 14’s story is about the new ornaments I bought this year.  I always buy a couple ornaments every year, but I bought a little more this year since we got a taller tree.

ahsang HKC DD12-14 3

The red striped paper is the Project Life card from the December kit.  The numbered 3×4 card turned out to be perfect, since I had 7 different ornaments.  I stamped the numbers on the photo using some old wood/rubber stamps that I picked up in the Target dollar spot years ago.

ahsang HKC DD12-14 6

I usually work on a couple days in a row, then take a break, then work on a few more days.  How about you guys?  Are you creating every day?

I really love how my December Daily album is coming along, and I hope you do too!

Happy Wednesday!

December Daily, days 5 & 8, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello everyone!  I hope your December is going joyfully so far.  Today, I’m sharing a couple more pages of my December Daily album.  I am using the HKC 2018 December Documented kit for these pages.

Day 5 is all about our new tree.  Our old tree was looking a little raggedy, so we got a new one for our new house.  We also started a new tradition, and we put up our tree before Thanksgiving, but only lit and bare.  That way, we get to relax after fluffing the tree, which is a job in and of itself, and we get to enjoy the twinkling lights.

ahsang HKC DD5&8 1

On the left, I used the tree pattern paper by My Mind’s Eye, an exclusive HKC journaling card (love when they have lines), and a Pinkfresh Studio chipboard banner.

ahsang HKC DD5&8 4

I used the tree cut file that I made previously when I made my cover album.  (It was a free cut file for day 1 of HKC’s 12 days of giving.)  I adhered it to a transparency I had in my stash, and on the other side, I backed it with pattern paper.

ahsang HKC DD5&8 2

The number 5 is a sticker from the Crate Paper sticker sheet (It was part of the 25).  I love how clean these simple & full pages look!  They really make a statement!

ahsang HKC DD5&8 5ahsang HKC DD5&8 6

Day 8 is about my youngest getting a “pop” after both her sisters left for their friends’ house.  She was so upset, I needed to cheer her up.  Needless to say, she loved it!  Haha!

ahsang HKC DD5&8 3

On the left, I printed a big photo, and turned it into a tag.  I added the number, which is die cut from the Pebbles 12×12 advent sheet, a pink Crate Paper sticker, and a Pinkfresh Studio enamel dot.  I also used the thickers to spell out the word Pop!  (Love the font on these!)

ahsang HKC DD5&8 8

On the right, I have 3 more photos, and I added a couple stickers to my favorite photo.  I used one of the exclusive journaling cards, and I hand wrote “her smile” at the top, then added my journaling with my computer and printer.

ahsang HKC DD5&8 7

That’s it for me today…I really love how this project is going.  I look forward to December Daily every year, and this year is no different!

Don’t forget to look through my December Daily category and tag if you’re looking for more inspiration!

Happy Sunday!

Galaxy card, featuring Scrapbook.com

Hey friends!

I’m taking a little pause from all the holiday craftiness to bring you a galaxy love note, featuring the Scrapbook.com stamp set: You and Me Quotes and Sayings.

ahsang scrapbookcom y&m quotes 1

When I say the “You are my true North” sentiment, I immediately thought of Aurora Borealis, which made me think of galaxy cards.

First I made my galaxy card, by using some distress inks on a Neenah A2 white cardstock panel.  The Distress colors I used are: squeezed lemonade, abandoned coral, worn lipstick, broken china, and finally black soot.  I used some ink blending tools to blend the various colors on my panel, then the black soot on top.  I went back and added some more color on top of the black soot, but looking at the pictures, I think I could have blended it a little more.  Next, I added some watered down white acrylic paint splatters for the stars.

ahsang scrapbookcom y&m quotes 2

I heat embossed the sentiment about the upper middle of my card.  I used Versamark ink and Ranger superfine white embossing powder.  Next, I used one of the smaller hearts from the Hero Arts nesting dies to die cut a heart around the sentiment.

ahsang scrapbookcom y&m quotes 4

I added some foam tape to the galaxy panel, and adhered it to Neenah A2 solar white card base.  I created an inlay card design by glueing the heart sentiment where it should go on the panel, like a puzzle piece.

ahsang scrapbookcom y&m quotes 3

I love the way my card turned out, and I absolutely love that sentiment!  I will be giving my hubs this card for sure!

I hope you like my card as well!

Happy Wednesday!

December Daily 2018, days 2-4, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  I am so excited to be sharing some December Daily pages with you!  I am sharing days 2-4 of my 2018 album, and for these days, I’m using the Hip Kit Club 2018 December Documented kit.

I also have a YouTube process video, if you’re interested!

For day 2, my story is about our family hike.  The weather was so beautiful, we had to take advantage and go outside!

ahsang HKC DD2-4 1

The number 2 is a cutfile called Scandinavian numbers from the Hip Kit Club 12 days of Giving, which you can get for free from the Hip Kit Club website, as long as you have an account.  I hand wrote a quote that I found on pinterest, and it says “of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt” by John Muir.  The Merry Happy card is an HKC exclusive from the DD kit.

ahsang HKC DD2-4 4

For day 3, my story is about the lights on the house.  It’s our first Christmas in the new house, and my husband was a bit hesitant to put the lights up, since our roof line is steeper and higher than our old house.  He got it done though, and I love it!

ahsang HKC DD2-4 2

Another thing about this story, is my genius purchase of the holiday season.  I bought an outdoor club that’s remote operated.  Now, we don’t have to step outside before going to bed to unplug the lights!  Love it!  I’m going to go get the indoor version for our Christmas tree!  Ha!

ahsang HKC DD2-4 5

For Day 4, the story is: letters to Santa.  We always go to visit Santa early to avoid the lines, but I document the day that the girls write their letters.  This year, I wanted the letters to Santa to be more individualized and personal.  I asked my older daughter to write her letter to Santa on her phone in the Notes app, then screenshot and text it to me.  My middle daughter wrote a classic letter with pictures.  I just had my 2 year old scribble on a pre-made card.

ahsang HKC DD2-4 3

I wanted a more interactive album this year, so I created a pocket page to house the Santa letters.  The front of the pocket is a photo that I made in photoshop of the 3 girls writing their letters.  I absolutely LOVE the way the letters and this spread turned out!

ahsang HKC DD2-4 6

I hope you like what I created, and if you’re interested in more December Daily posts from me, just click on the December Daily tag or category on my blog post!

Happy Sunday!

Dear Santa mini album, featuring Pinkfresh Studio

Hello friends!

Today, I’m on the Pinkfresh Studio blog, and I’m sharing a mini tag album that I created using the Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Vibes collection.  I absolutely love the colors of this collection…the bright white, with the classic red and green, plus some blues included too.

1024jungahsang_120618_01

I decided to make a Santa mini album, and I included most of our daughters’ Santa pictures.  It starts with the first Santa visit when we had our first daughter, and then our second daughter, and finally with our third daughter.  I love having all these photos in one place!

1024jungahsang_120618_03

I started off by die cutting some of the papers from the Holiday Vibes collection into tags.  I was mindful of the orientation, as I wanted to have the tags front and back, but I wanted to be able to see both tags when opened, without one being upside down…you can see what I mean in the photos.

I added in the photos, and the years, which I typed up on my type writer.  I also die cut some of the photos into tags, to add some variety.

1024jungahsang_120618_04

1024jungahsang_120618_05

1024jungahsang_120618_06

Next, I embellished with “all the things” from the Holiday Vibes embellishment collection.  I made sure to pick out the Santa related embellishments, like the “Ho Ho Ho!” ephemera and “Christmas list” chipboard banner.

1024jungahsang_120618_07

1024jungahsang_120618_08

Here’s a closer look at one of my favorite, no-photo tags.  I really love creating those stacked hearts from pattern paper…you may have noticed them in all my projects!

1024jungahsang_120618_09

I put all my tags on a ring, added a piece of red and white ribbon, and I ended up with the cutest little mini album.  I also love that I can add more photos as the years go on.

1024jungahsang_120618_02

I hope you like my mini album as much as I do.  Don’t forget to check out the Holiday Vibes collection, and share your projects with us!

Happy Thursday!

Many thanks holiday cards, featuring Spellbinders

Hello friends!  Today, I have a couple of thank you holiday cards to share, featuring the December 2018 Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders.

ahsang spbds deckit 2

I absolutely love these die of the month die sets, and this one is particularly fun, because it has an interactive card element.  You have all the dies you need already included!  I used these dies for holiday cards, but you could use them for any occasion.  There are so many accesory dies included, like the heart and scallop!

For my first card, I used Neenah smooth card stock in solar white.  I also used red, green, and silver glitter cardstock from my stash.  The pattern paper is from an older My Mind’s Eye Christmas collection.

ahsang spbds deckit 6ahsang spbds deckit 7ahsang spbds deckit 8

For my second card, I used Neenah smooth card stock in desert storm.  I also used red, green, and gold glitter cardstock from my stash.  The pattern paper is from the same My Mind’s Eye Christmas collection.

ahsang spbds deckit 3ahsang spbds deckit 4ahsang spbds deckit 5

To make the cards:

  1. I used the biggest die to cut the card base on cardstock.
  2. I knew I wanted the sentiment to be open and see-through, so I used the many thanks die to die cut it out of the center part of the circle in the card base.
  3. I used the side panel dies to die cut the pattern paper.
  4. The I used the may thanks die and the scalloped circle, taped together, to cut out the glitter sentiment.
  5. I die cut 4 flowers from red cardstock: 2 bigger flowers that I layered together, and 2 smaller flowers.
  6. I die cut 6 leaves from green cardstock: 2 bigger leaves, and 4 smaller leaves.
  7. I scored the card base, then attached the pattern paper with roller dot tape.
  8. I attached the many thanks glitter piece with liquid glue.
  9. I fluffed the flowers and leaves, then attached them by putting a little bit of liquid glue on certain spots.
  10. To finish off my card, I added pearls to the center of the flowers.

You can also visit the Spellbinders YouTube channel to see a tutorial on how to use these dies.
The cards fit perfectly into an A2 sized envelope.

ahsang spbds deckit 1

I really love how these cards turned out, and I hope you do too.  I may be giving them to my daughter’s teachers this holiday.  Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to stop by the Spellbinders shop for lots of goodies!

Happy Monday!

December Daily cover page, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  It’s finally December Daily time!  I love this project so much; this will be my 9th year participating in December Daily, and it’s a tradition that I look forward to every holiday season.  Today I am sharing my cover page, and I am using the Hip Kit Club 2018 December Documented Kit.

ahsang HKC DD cover 1

I started by cutting out a giant 2018 on a 6×8 piece of white cardstock, using my silhouette cameo.  The font is just Times New Roman.  I wanted to highlight the pattern papers in the kit, so I decided to create a paper-pieced quilt under each number.  I traced the numbers on another piece of white cardstock.  Then, I cut down some paper into 1.5 inch squares, cut them in half diagonally, and arranged them.  I wanted that quilted look, so I added some machine stitching.

ahsang HKC DD cover 4

I wanted to create some depth, so I adhered the 2018 cardstock with foam squares.  I made sure to keep the inner portion of the 0 and 8, and I adhered those with foam squares as well.

ahsang HKC DD cover 5
I wanted to add a pop of glittery red, which is my favorite color to use for Christmas, so I altered the Pebbles woodgrain phrase sticker, by heat embossing with Versamark ink and red glitter embossing powder from Ranger.  I embossed it twice to be sure to get an even coverage.  I LOVE how it turned out!

I also made this tree that I want to put in my December Daily, but I’m not sure where yet.  It’s a free cut file as a part of Hip Kit Club’s 12 days of giving.  I cut off the tree skirt part of the tree so I could have a bigger tree in my 6×8 album.

ahsang HKC DD cover 6

I cut the tree from white cardstock, then backed each tiny little space with pattern paper.  The pops of red are from the branding strips of the HKC exclusive paper.  Once I finished backing the tree, I added some machine stitching.

ahsang HKC DD cover 2

That’s it!  I’m so excited to share my December Daily album.  If you’d like to see other December Daily blog posts, just click on the category.

Happy Sunday!

Altenew Build-A-Flower Poppy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Blog Hop Graphic

Hello friends and welcome!  Today, I’m here to share a Traveler’s Notebook (TN) Spread using the new Altenew Build-A-Flower Poppy stamp & die set.  Blog hop and giveaway info will be below.

BAF Poppy_blog post

When I saw this stamp set, one of my most favorite photos that I’ve ever taken popped into mind, and I knew I had to create something with the photo.

Altenew-BAF Poppy-Jung AhSang 1 WEB

First, I started off by printing my photo to almost fill one side of my TN.  I printed it off, and trimmed it to about 4 1/4 x 7 1/2 in.  I adhered the photo to the page.  Next, I grabbed a piece of Neenah solar white card stock, and I stamped the outline images of the 2 big flowers all over creating my own pattern paper.  I trimmed it to about 5 x 8 in, and adhered it to the right side of my TN.

Altenew-BAF Poppy-Jung AhSang 5 WEB

I grabbed another piece of white cardstock, and I started stamping the poppies using the Altenew inks in the Red Sunset Mini Cube set.  I really love the Crimson red ink!  On some of the flowers, I just double stamped the crimson on the next layer, and I love the subtle look it gives.  I also stamped a few of the leaves out in one of the inks in the Altenew Green Meadows mini cube set.  Once I finished stamping, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.

BAF Poppy Layering Guide I made a little journaling tag from craft cardstock, and I used my typewriter to type a little journaling.  I added the tag, a few flowers, and a couple of the small leaves to my TN.

Altenew-BAF Poppy-Jung AhSang 4 WEB

I wanted a sentiment, so I used the “you are bloomin’ gorgeous” sentiment from the stamp set, and heat embossed it in white on black cardstock.  I trimmed it out, and adhered it on top of the photo.

To finish my TN spread off, I added some ribbon and twine to the tag, I added some washi tape to the photo, and I added some gold splatter and a heart paper clip.  I really love how my project turned out!
