Sunny + Bright layout, featuring Pinkfresh Studio

Hello friends! I’m back with another layout featuring Pinkfresh Studio. Today, I’m focusing on the Celebrate collection, which is their collaboration collection with Altenew.

I wanted to use some of the beautiful watercolor pattern papers from the paper pack, and here is what I came up with:

I was really inspired to use the Right Now pattern paper, the one with the large yellow circle in the middle. I knew I wanted to give the circle some texture, so I decided to fussy cut it, add machine stitching, and roughen up the edges.

I decided to use a photo strip of my daughter, because the colors in the photo go perfectly with this collection. (We were bored at home, so I gave her a bit of a glam-up, and she looks too grown up. Ha!) I used the other side of the Right Now pattern paper, as well as the Progress pattern paper to back the photo. I added it to the yellow circle, then adhered the “Sunny + Bright” title, which is a puffy phrase stickers from the My Favorite Story collection.

Next, I stamped the large floral from the Celebrate Today stamp set twice on a piece of white cardstock. I used the coordinating die to die cut them out. I tucked on of the images behind my photo strip to the left. I cut a piece from the other stamp set to put on the right side of the photo strip.

I used a lot of the floral images from the Celebrate ephemera pack, as well as a few of the yellow floral pieces from the floral ephemera pack of the My Favorite Story collection.

To fill in some of the spaces, I added some puffy hearts that were included with the puffy phrase stickers, some yellow and pink enamel dots, and a few chipboard flair pieces from the My Favorite Collection. I added a little bit of handwritten journaling to the right of the Bright in my title.

I chose the Progress pattern paper for my background, because I thought it was beautiful with my daughter’s skin tone and the flowers in the layout. I added some white watered down acrylic paint splatters, and I doodled some tiny circles with a white gel pen. I adhered the yellow circle a bit more to the left of the pattern paper, and my layout was done!

I really love how this layout turned out. I don’t normally use a ton of yellow on my layouts, but I do love how the large watercolor yellow circle and the Sunny + Bright sentiment just highlight my daughter’s beauty.

I hope you were inspired by my layout, and I hope you get crafty! Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Tuesday!

Pinkfresh Studio + Altenew “Celebrate” Collaboration Blog Hop Details + Giveaway

Hey friends! Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio & Altenew “Celebrate” collaboration blog hop. You should be coming from Ashlea’s blog, and the next stop on the hop is Lilith Eeckels’ blog. If you get lost along the way, you can always head back to the Pinkfresh Studio blog.

This “Celebrate” collection is such a sweet collaboration, and I am thrilled with the products!

First, I started with the Celebrate Us stamp set. I used Pinkfresh Studio inks in colors that coordinated with the collection. Using the cube packs make layering stamps a breeze. I used both green cube packs, Garden Stroll, Over the Hills, the pink cube pack, Fairy Dust, the purple cube pack, Soul of Provence, and the red cube pack, Heartbeat. Next, I diecut the flowers using the coordinating Celebrate Us die.

I was looking through the paper pack, and immediately the This Story paper jumped out at me. I loved the mixed media look of the paper, and the flowers. Using an exacto knife, I cut out the tips of a few of the leaves, and curled them up for added interest and dimension.

I layered my photo with the Progress pattern paper, and adhered it to the background toward the left. Then I tucked the stamped flowers behind and in front of the photo. I found a journaling card from the ephemera pack that went well with the background paper and stamped flowers, so I used it for my journaling, and layered it right on top of my photo.

For my title, I used the Love sentiment sticker from the puffy phrase stickers (Pinkfresh Studio’s My Favorite Story collection). I also stamped the “everyday moments” sentiment from the Celebrate Today stamp set.

To balance off the left side, I created a little embellishment cluster on the right side. I used a flower from the ephemera pack, and another flower that I fussy cut from the Progress pattern paper.

To finish off my layout, I added some machine stitching and enamel dots (Pinkfresh Studio’s My Favorite Story collection). The pattern paper did most of the work for me!

I love the way this layout turned out, and the photo of my pup looks so cute!

Altenew Build-A-Flower Poppy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Blog Hop Graphic

Hello friends and welcome!  Today, I’m here to share a Traveler’s Notebook (TN) Spread using the new Altenew Build-A-Flower Poppy stamp & die set.  Blog hop and giveaway info will be below.

BAF Poppy_blog post

When I saw this stamp set, one of my most favorite photos that I’ve ever taken popped into mind, and I knew I had to create something with the photo.

Altenew-BAF Poppy-Jung AhSang 1 WEB

First, I started off by printing my photo to almost fill one side of my TN.  I printed it off, and trimmed it to about 4 1/4 x 7 1/2 in.  I adhered the photo to the page.  Next, I grabbed a piece of Neenah solar white card stock, and I stamped the outline images of the 2 big flowers all over creating my own pattern paper.  I trimmed it to about 5 x 8 in, and adhered it to the right side of my TN.

Altenew-BAF Poppy-Jung AhSang 5 WEB

I grabbed another piece of white cardstock, and I started stamping the poppies using the Altenew inks in the Red Sunset Mini Cube set.  I really love the Crimson red ink!  On some of the flowers, I just double stamped the crimson on the next layer, and I love the subtle look it gives.  I also stamped a few of the leaves out in one of the inks in the Altenew Green Meadows mini cube set.  Once I finished stamping, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.

BAF Poppy Layering Guide I made a little journaling tag from craft cardstock, and I used my typewriter to type a little journaling.  I added the tag, a few flowers, and a couple of the small leaves to my TN.

Altenew-BAF Poppy-Jung AhSang 4 WEB

I wanted a sentiment, so I used the “you are bloomin’ gorgeous” sentiment from the stamp set, and heat embossed it in white on black cardstock.  I trimmed it out, and adhered it on top of the photo.

To finish my TN spread off, I added some ribbon and twine to the tag, I added some washi tape to the photo, and I added some gold splatter and a heart paper clip.  I really love how my project turned out!

Hello friends and welcome!  Today, I’m here to share with you a card and a tag I made using the new Build-a-Flower Daffodil stamp and die set from Altenew.

BAF Daffodil_blog post

Be sure to stop by the Altenew scrapbook blog and card blog and follow along the blog hop for more inspiration and giveaways.  (More information below.)

I decided to make a card and a tag for this blog hop.  Daffodiles are so pretty and the sentiments are great in this set.

Altenew-BAF daffodil-Jung AhSang 1 WEB

First, I started off by stamping the images using Altenew inks in yellows for the flower (I did add in a light orange ink from my stash), and greens for the stem and leaves on Neenah white cardstock.  I knew that I might what to add some gold heat embossing, so I saved the outline image for last.

BAF Daffodil Layering Guide

Next, I used the coordinating dies to cut it out.  On a piece of white cardstock, I used some distress inks to ink blend a background.  For the cards, I used blues, and for the tag, I added in a bit of pink and lavender.  I die cut a rectangle and a tag out of the backgrounds.  Then I reached for one of my favorite stencils- it has tiny hearts all over it- and used texture paste mixed with a little bit of Nuvo glimmer paste for some texture and interest.

While waiting for the hearts to dry, I picked a couple of sentiments, and white heat embossed them only a piece of black cardstock.

Once I had all my pieces ready to go, I assembled the card and the tag, using glue and foam squares to put my projects together.

38, Altenew Build-A-Flower: Flourishing Zinnia Blog Hop + Giveaway

Flourishing Zinnia_Blog Hop

Hello friends and welcome!  Today, I’m here to share with you a layout I made using the new Build-a-flower: Flourishing Zinnia stamp & die set from Altenew.

Blog Post BAF Flourishing Zinnia

Be sure to stop by the Altenew scrapbook blog and card blog and follow along the blog hop for more inspiration and giveaways.  (More information below.)

I decided to create a scrapbook layout using the stamps and die.  One of the great things about making your own embellishments is that you can choose the colors you want to make them.  My favorite color is blue & mint, so I thought why not!  I made 3 blue flowers and mint colored leaves, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

Altenew-BAF Fl Zinnia-Jung AhSang 1 WEB

I started out by stamping the flowers and leaves using the guide on the back of the stamp set.  I used the Altenew Northern Lights Mini ink cube set for the leaves, and for the flowers, I ended up using Distress inks.  Then, I used the matching dies to cut out the images.

Altenew-BAF Fl Zinnia-Jung AhSang 2 WEB

Next I trimmed my photos, and backed them to a piece of pattern paper from the Altenew Reflection scrapbook collection.  Since I used black & white photos, I could essentially make the layout whatever color I decided to.  I like the monochromatic look with just a little pop of color.  I chose a black and white striped paper from the same Reflection collection as my background.  I added a little mixed media on it, although most of it is covered by my photo and embellishments.  I added my flowers and some more bits and pieces from the Reflection scrapbook collection to embellish my layout.  My title is 38, and the “you are simply awesome” sentiment is from the Flourishing Zinnia stamp set.

Here’s a closeup of the journaling.  I just found some funny “adulthood” quotes on Pinterest, and used them as my journaling to joke about me turning 38.  Ha!

Treasure, featuring Altenew’s new Build-a-flower Larkspur set

Hello friends and welcome!  Today, I’m here to share with you a layout I made using the new Build-a-flower: Larkspur stamp & die set from Altenew.

Web

Be sure to stop by the Altenew scrapbook blog and card blog for more inspiration and a chance to win one of six $30 Altenew gift certificates.  Also, leave a comment this blog post for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate!  I will be announcing the winner on my blog on 6/5/2018.

I decided to create a scrapbook layout this time using the stamps and die.  One of the great things about making your own embellishments is that you can choose the colors you want to make them.  I decided to make the flowers and leaves to match my girl’s shirt.

Altenew-BAF Larkspur-Jung AhSang 1

I started out by stamping the flowers and leaves using the guide on the back of the stamp set.  I wanted a softer image, so I decided not to use the outline stamp.  I used the Altenew Northern Lights Mini ink cube set, as well as some inks from my stash.  Then, I used the matching dies to cut out the images.

BAF Larkspur Layering Guide

Next, I got a white piece of cardstock, and started laying things out to see where I wanted everything to go.  I added some ink splatters across the cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment title, which is from the Altenew Build-a-flower Sakura Blossom stamp set.   I drew some lines and added my journaling.

Altenew-BAF Larkspur-Jung AhSang 3

Next I trimmed the white cardstock, and added it to a piece of pattern paper from the Altenew Reflection scrapbook collection.  I machine stitched around all 4 sides, and roughened up the edges of the white cardstock.  I adhered the flowers and leaves that would be going under my photo on the left side.  Then, I backed my photo with another piece of pattern paper from the Reflection collection, and adhered the photo with foam tape.  I adhered my last flower and leaves with foam tape on top of my photo on the right side.

Altenew-BAF Larkspur-Jung AhSang 4

I added a few more embellishments, like enamel dots, an epoxy sticker, the cloud sticker, and the butterfly wood veneer, all from the Altenew Reflection scrapbook collection, to finish off my layout.

Altenew-BAF Larkspur-Jung AhSang 2

I love this cute stamp and die set!  The Build-A-Flower: Larkspur set includes 1 6×8 stamp set and 1 coordinating die set.  Here’s what Altenew says about this set:

Larkspurs belong to the buttercup family and are native throughout the Northern Hemisphere. The flowers bloom in a variety of colors from white to blue-violet. Larkspur flowers are irregularly shaped and bloom loosely along a vertical stem. This stamp set includes a five layer larkspur bloom, three-layer leaf, and 11 sentiment words. There are flower and leaf outline images included, which can be used with the layer images or on their own with different coloring mediums.

This special product is only sold as a set, not individually.

You can purchase a Build-a-flower: Larkspur & ink bundle set to save 5%.  (It is not available yet, but will be soon.)
