Pinkfresh Studio Essentials 3 Release Blog Hop

Hello friends! Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials 3 Release Blog Hop. You should be coming from Channin’s blog, and your next stop is Zsoka’s blog. More details on the hop and giveaways will be outlined below.

I am always happy to participate in an Essentials Release blog hop, because these dies are some that I can use over and over again on any project. Here is what I created for the blog hop.

I created 2 cards and 6 tags for this release.

For my first project, I made a holiday card. As soon as I saw the fancy diagonal stripes die, I immediately thought of a candy cane. I diecut the diagonal stripes from red cardstock. Since it is A2 sized, I glued it to a white card base, and immediately, I have a holiday background.

I wanted to create a framed scene, so I used the diagonal stitched squares die set, and I chose the 2 middle sized squares to diecut a frame from brown cardstock. I diecut it 3 times, then glued them on top of each other. I wanted the frame to look like a wood frame, so I used a brown Copic marker to add some shading. Next, I stamped and Copic colored the houses from the Home for the Holidays stamp set. Then I fussy cut it out, and set it aside. On a separate piece of white cardstock, I used a couple Distress Oxide inks to ink blend a background. Once fully dry, I white heat embossed some snowflakes from the same stamp set onto the background. I also drew on some snow with a white gel pen. I glued the frame on top of the blended background, then trimmed off the excess. Next, I adhered the houses in the frame with foam tape, and then glued the framed piece to the red and white striped card base. To finish off my card, I stamped the “wishing you merry days” sentiment from the Merry Days stamp set on a white cardstock strip, and adhered it to the card.

For my next card, I really wanted to use the radiating background 1 die.

I really love to use white cardstock for clean and graphic looks; I die cut the radiating background from white cardstock, and I glued it to an A2 sized card base. I stamped and Copic colored the images from the Floral Vase stamp set. I was going for a winter bouquet in a concrete vase. (I really love how my vase turned out!) I diecut the images with the coordinating die set. I adhered the vase, flowers, and bow to the background with foam tape. I white heat embossed the “joy and love” sentiment on a strip of black cardstock, and adhered it with more foam tape. To finish off my card, I added some clear crystals.

For my next project, I really thought the teardrop tag with fillable elements die set looked really cool, so I thought I would make each of the tags in the set.

I decided to make the tags tone on tone in color, and each one a little different. For the pink tag, I glued the cut out piece right onto the background piece, for the yellow tag, I adhered the cut out piece with foam tape, for the green tag, I decided to make a shaker, and for the red tag, I diecut the cutout piece 2 times and glued them on top of each other. For the sentiments, I used the Delicate Wreath stamp set. I left the red one without a sentiment, because I’m thinking of using it in my December Daily album, so I can add a number.

For my final tags, I used the fillable tag with pocket dies.

I decided to create another tag for my December Daily album. I tried to match some of the colors in my album. I diecut the tag from light blue cardstock, the hole reinforcer with red cardstock, and the pocket piece with vellum. I added a number 5 puffy sticker from the Everyday Musings collection, and some red and white twine. I also made a plain red tag with a light blue hole reinforcer.

I love how my cards and tags turned out, and I hope you do too!  I absolutely love the dies in this Essentials 3 Release.

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop

Holiday Release blog hop - banners-1

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Stamp & Die blog hop.  You should be coming from Ivana’s blog, and your next stop is Keeway’s blog.  If you get lost along the way, you can always go back to the Pinkfresh Studio Blog.  More details on the hop and giveaways will be outlined below.

There are so many beautiful products in this release, and I made 3 cards using some of the stamps and dies.

1024jungahsang_HolidayRelease_02

For my first card, I used the Sparkle With Magic stamp set.  I decided to recreate my watercolor background that I made for the Pinkfresh Studio August release, which you can see here.  I got a couple of comments asking for a process video for that card, so this time, I filmed a video for my YT channel.

1024jungahsang_HolidayRelease_03

I used the Pinkfresh Studio watercolors, in the shades Emerald City, Sapphire, and Aquamarine.  Once my background panel was dry, I trimmed it down, and heat embossed some of the pieces of the stamp set with gold embossing powder.  That’s the beauty of this stamp set.  You can go as simple or as detailed as you want.  I tend to be a more minimal crafter, if you will…I like clean lines, white space, and a graphic look.

For my next card, I used the Merry Days stamp set and coordinating die.

1024jungahsang_HolidayRelease_05

On a sheet of white cardstock, I stamped the large image, then used my Copic Markers to color the images.  Next, I die cut the coordinating die with green cardstock.  I glued the die cut on top if the colored images, then trimmed away the excess white cardstock.

I used Distress Inks for my background.  I used on of Kristina Werner’s Distress Oxide ink combinations.  I didn’t have a couple of the colors in the Distress Oxide ink pads, so I used my regular Distress Inks instead.  The Distress Inks didn’t come out as soft as  the Distress Oxide Inks would have, but I like the way it turned out anyway.  The colors are Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, and Blueprint Sketch.  I used some watered down white acrylic paint to add falling snow to my background.

I stamped the sentiment at the very bottom, then adhered the tree with foam tape.  To finish off my card, I added some Pinkfresh Studio crystals in different colors to match my background.

For my last card, I used the Cozy Christmas Wishes stamp set.

1024jungahsang_HolidayRelease_04

My first thought was to color the image in with my Copic markers, but I decided to do something different this time.  I used my Prismacolor pencils, and the no line coloring technique.  This card took me quite a while to color, but I love the results!  I knew I wanted the little sparkly diamonds to be yellow, so I stamped the hole image in really light yellow ink.  Next, I did some masking, and stamped just the sentiment again with Versamark ink, then heat set it with gold embossing powder.  I decided to stamp the little Pine sprigs, so I did a bit of lazy masking (i.e. lots of post it tape), and used an ink cube to ink and stamp each little sprig.  I trimmed down the card panel, then used a corner chomper to round the corners.  I wanted to highlight the sweet blue bird a little more, so I used a blue card base.

I love how my cards turned out, and I hope you did too!  Don’t forget to check out this new holiday collection!

Pinkfresh Studio 5th Birthday Blog Hop Celebration

Pinkfresh - birthday blog hop-02

Hello friends & Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio 5th birthday blog hop celebration.  (All giveaway info will be posted at the bottom of this post.)

You should have come from Heather Hoffman’s blog, and your next destination is Carly Tee Miner’s blog.  If you got lost along the way, just return to the Pinkfresh Studio blog post!

Today, I’m sharing a TN spread that I created using the Joyful Day & Everyday Musings collections.  This is my husband and I celebrating 22 years together & 14 years of marriage.  (We are high school sweethearts!)

1024jungahsang_040519_02

On the left side, I cut down a sheet of the Perfect Moment pattern paper to fill up the entire TN page, and filled in all the labels with puffy stickers, enamel dots, and other embellishments.  I have been wanting to use this paper just in this way for a while now, and I’m so glad I did…I love the way it looks!

1024jungahsang_040519_03

On the right side, I embellished my photo with a journaling pocket, the back side of the Perfect Moment pattern paper, and other embellishments.  I added one of my signature layered/stitched hearts to the left of my photo.  For texture, I adhered some elements with foam adhesive, and added some stitching as well.

1024jungahsang_040519_04

I love that I documented something just for my hubbie & I!

Also, in honor of Pinkfresh’s 5th birthday celebration, I decided to include 5 of my most favorite projects that I created for Pinkfresh Studio:

These cards were made using the Home for the Holidays stamp set, as well as the Cityscape Die.

Spellbinders Shadowbox Blog Hop

Blog-1800x1200

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Spellbinders Becca Feeken Shadowbox Blog Hop!  I am so happy you’re here!  You should have come from Hussena Calcuttawala‘s blog, and after me, you will go to Tina Smith‘s blog.

For my project I decided to make a shadowbox frame to highlight the cutest little baby footprint.  It’s my youngest daughter’s footprint, and she is now 2.  We moved into our new home about 6 months ago, and we haven’t done much decorating yet.  I was pulling out baby frames, and I was feeling nostalgic.

ahsangsbshadowbox2

You can find all the new Shadowbox dies by Becca Feeken here.  For my project, I used the Adjustable Shadowbox Frame with 3/4″ Border dies, Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame dies, and Flutter Wing Shadowbox Butterflies dies.

ahsangsbshadowbox1

I put together my frame using some aqua colored cardstock.  I made the frame to the size 4 x 4 inches.  Spellbinders has a tutorial on how to assembles the shadow box on their youtube channel here.  I tried making one with scraps of cardstock first, and I was all thumbs.  However, I got the hang of it on my second try.

I scanned the footprint, and in photoshop, I added the date.  I printed it out onto white cardstock, then I hand wrote her name.  I trimmed it to 4 x 4″, and I adhered it to the back of the frame using scortape.

ahsangsbshadowbox3

To add some interest, I die cut the 2 corner pieces from the Callista Rectrangle shadowbox frame dies twice, so that I had a total of 4 pieces.  I carefully tucked them into the corners between the frame and the footprint print, and added a little bit of liquid glue.  I also die cut the butterflies from the Flutter Wing Shadowbox butterflies dies with light pink cardstock, and glued them to the front of the frame.  I die cut the center body piece twice, and glued them on top of each other for more dimension.  I also made sure to fluff the wings for dimension.

ahsangsbshadowbox4

This project turned out so cute.  I love how it looks hanging in my office.  I just added a tiny command strip to the back to attach it to the wall.  Since it’s all made of paper, it doesn’t weigh much at all.

Ok, now for the giveaway and blog hop details:

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards blog hop, Day 2

HolidayCardsBlogHop-BlogTop

Hello friends and welcome to Day 2 of the Pinkfresh Studio holiday cards blog hop.  You should be coming from Flóra Farkas’ blog, and after me, is Laura Bassen’s blog.  You can always go back to the Pinkfresh Studio blog if you get lost along the way.  More details on the hop and giveaways will be outlined below.

Today, I created 2 holiday cards using the Home for the Holidays stamp set and the Cityscape die.  I really love this little set, because there is another coordinating stamp set that you can use with the die that isn’t holiday related, and it’s called A Day in the City.

Here are my 2 cards:

1024jungahsang_110218_01

For my cards, I used a variety of techniques: copic coloring, ink blending, heat embossing, and shaker card.

For both of my cards, I first die cut the Cityscape panel from Neenah white cardstock.  Then I stamped the buildings and tree.  I also stamped the buildings again on a separate piece of white cardstock because I knew I wanted to Color them, fussy cut them out, and then add them to the the panels with foam tape.  I colored the trees on the card panel itself, so I would have a bit of dimension.  Next I heat embossed the banner and the sentiment, and a few snowflakes.  I also added some white paint splatter to my background and my buildings for a falling snow effect.

1024jungahsang_110218_06

For the first card, I wanted to make a shaker card, and use a more modern holiday color palette.  I’ve seen this color combo in holiday decor in the last couple of years, and I been loving it!  I chose an early morning background sky color scheme with pinks purples and blues to go with my buildings, and I also thought that silver embossing powder would go perfectly!

1024jungahsang_110218_05

For my 2nd card, I went with a more traditional color palette, using red, green, and blue. I also decided to go for gold embossing powder, and I added a couple more snowflakes since I wasn’t making a shaker card.

1024jungahsang_110218_03

1024jungahsang_110218_04

I trimmed the city scape panels a little bit and added them to white card bases.

I love love love how my cards turned out, and I hope you do to.  You can find all the holiday collection on the Pinkfresh Studio website.

Altenew Scrapbook Collection Blog Hop + Giveaway

Altenew Blog Hop Graphic

**EDITED TO ADD THE WINNER FROM MY BLOG!  The WINNER is Sue LD: “So cute with the colorful hearts.”  You should have received an email from me!**

Hey there crafty friends!  Welcome to the Altenew Scrapbook Collection blog hop!  I am so excited to be taking part in this blog hop!

I will be using the beautiful Reflection Scrapbook collection from Altenew.

Altenew_Scrapbook_Collection

This kit has everything you need to create gorgeous projects!

Today, I will be sharing a layout I made using the Reflection scrapbook collection.

ahsang altenew scrap 1

First, I backed a heart cut file with pattern paper from the collection.  I chose colors that matched my photo, and I really love the water color look of these papers!  I added some machine stitching to create texture.

I layered some pattern paper under my photo.  I also did a bit of stamping for my layout.  I gold heat embossed a row of flowers from the Hello Sunshine stamp set on a piece of white cardstock, and layered that under my photo as well.  I also stamped some flowers from the Painted Flowers stamp set, then I cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I used those florals on the bottom right and the top left of my photo, layering and tucking them in front of and behind my photo.

ahsang altenew scrap 2

Beautiful is the title of my layout, which shows my sentiment to the photo.  I used the scripted acetate piece for my title.  I also added two acetate butterflies.  I love the way the bold black pops against my layout.  I finished off by making a tab out of pattern paper, and adding my date using the date stamp included in the kit.  I included the “BEST DAY” sticker to add another bold black element.  I adhered the journaling that I printed off from the computer and cut into strips.  Some gold watercolor splatters and a little thread, and my layout is done!

Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop + Giveaway

CelebratingParents-BlogHop-Graphic

Hey friends, and welcome to the Altenew Celebrating Parents card drive blog hop + giveaway.  You should be arriving from May Sukyong Park‘s blog.

Today, I have a trio of cards to share with you:

ahsang altenewCPBH

My first 2 cards feature Altenew’s Best Dad stamp and die set.

ahsang altenewCPBH 1-1

For this card, I stamped the tape measure and tool box images from Altenew’s Best Dad stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink.  Using copic markers, I colored in the images, and then added some details with a white gel pen.  I also stamped a few of the solid stars using yellow ink.  Then, I used the coordinating dies to diecut the images.

ahsang altenewCPBH 1-3

Next, I worked on my background, which is 2 layers.  On the background, I blended some blue distress inks: tumbled glass, broken china, salty ocean, and a little bit of blueprint sketch to create an ombre background.  For the top layer, I diecut a piece of white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die and a large circle die.  I attached the white cardstock to the ombre background using foam tape.  I attached the tool box and tape measure to the center of the cut out circle using more foam tape.  (I cut a little slit into the tool box image to nest the tape measure in a little.)  Then, I attached the whole panel to an A2 sized navy card base.  I finished off my card with a little watercolor splatters, sequins, and stars.

ahsang altenewCPBH 2-2

For my next card, I stamped the mugs from Altenew’s Best Dad stamp set.  I masked off the “BEST DAD” and mustache to create a few plain mugs.  I colored in 3 mugs using copic markers, and I added a little highlight using a white gel pen.  Then, I used the coordinating dies to diecut the images out.

ahsang altenewCPBH 2-3

To create my background, I diecut a piece of white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die.  Then, I masked off the bottom 1/3 of the cardstock using post-it tape.  Using distress inks: broken china, salty ocean, and just a little bit of blueprint sketch, I loosely ink blended the background.  I sprayed some water onto the ink blending, and then blotted with a paper towel, creating a fun background.  I also ink blended a little scrap of white cardstock with mustard seed distress ink to create the strip of yellow.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink on black cardstock, and heat set it with white embossing powder.  I glued the yellow strip of cardstock onto my background, and then attached my sentiment strip with foam tape.  Next I glued on the trio of mugs.  I attached the entire panel with fun foam onto an A2 sized card base that I created out of navy blue cardstock.  To finish my card, I added a few sparkling clear sequins in various sizes.

I created my third card using Altenew’s Best Mom Stamp and die set.

ahsang altenewCPBH 3-1

To create this card, I stamped the floral image from Altenew’s Best Mom stamp set using Versamark ink onto white cardstock.  I heat set the image with white embossing powder. Using distress inks, I watercolored the image.  For the flowers, I used spun sugar and picked raspberry.  For the leaves, I used mowed lawn, mixed with a little bit of lucky clover.  Once dry, I diecut the image using the coordinating die.

ahsang altenewCPBH 3-3

For the background, I loosely watercolored using tumbled glass distress ink.  I also used the distress ink to create paint splatters.  I wanted my stamped floral image to blend in with the background a little, so I used the tumbled glass distress ink to color in some of the negative white space.  Next, I stamped the sunshine sentiment using black archival ink.  I attached the background panel to an A2 sized white card base using fun foam.  Then, I attached the floral image on top using foam tape.  I finished off my card with sparkling clear sequins.

Altenew is currently hosting a card drive to bring a little joy to seniors who are in nursing homes or shelters on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  You can find out all about it on the Celebrating Parents Card Drive post on Altenew’s blog.  You can send in cards through May 3, 2017.  I encourage you to create and send in as many cards as you can.
