Hello friends and welcome to Day 2 of the Pinkfresh Studio holiday cards blog hop. You should be coming from Flóra Farkas’ blog, and after me, is Laura Bassen’s blog. You can always go back to the Pinkfresh Studio blog if you get lost along the way. More details on the hop and giveaways will be outlined below.
Today, I created 2 holiday cards using the Home for the Holidays stamp set and the Cityscape die. I really love this little set, because there is another coordinating stamp set that you can use with the die that isn’t holiday related, and it’s called A Day in the City.
Here are my 2 cards:
For my cards, I used a variety of techniques: copic coloring, ink blending, heat embossing, and shaker card.
For both of my cards, I first die cut the Cityscape panel from Neenah white cardstock. Then I stamped the buildings and tree. I also stamped the buildings again on a separate piece of white cardstock because I knew I wanted to Color them, fussy cut them out, and then add them to the the panels with foam tape. I colored the trees on the card panel itself, so I would have a bit of dimension. Next I heat embossed the banner and the sentiment, and a few snowflakes. I also added some white paint splatter to my background and my buildings for a falling snow effect.
For the first card, I wanted to make a shaker card, and use a more modern holiday color palette. I’ve seen this color combo in holiday decor in the last couple of years, and I been loving it! I chose an early morning background sky color scheme with pinks purples and blues to go with my buildings, and I also thought that silver embossing powder would go perfectly!
For my 2nd card, I went with a more traditional color palette, using red, green, and blue. I also decided to go for gold embossing powder, and I added a couple more snowflakes since I wasn’t making a shaker card.
I trimmed the city scape panels a little bit and added them to white card bases.
I love love love how my cards turned out, and I hope you do to. You can find all the holiday collection on the Pinkfresh Studio website.

Both of your cards are wonderfully festive and colorful! I really like how you made the one card a shaker. I love the way the cityscape die leaves an area for the sentiment banner. It gives the card such a professional appearance.
