Pinkfresh Studio August Release Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio August release blog hop.  You should be coming from Ivana’s blog, and after me is Kelly’s blog.  If you get lost along the way, you can always go back to the Pinkfresh Studio Blog.  More details on the hop and giveaways will be outlined below.

There are so many great products in this release, it was hard to decide what to use, lol!  I ended up making 3 cards.  Without meaning to, I ended up with cards that coordinate with each other.  They are floral, pink toned, with a pop of black and white hug sentiments.

For my first card, I used the new Floral Vase stamp set and floral vase coordinating die cuts.

I used Copic markers to color in the floral and ribbon images.  After coloring, and adding a few details with a white gel pen, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.  The die for the floral piece cuts it with the stems attached, but I wanted the flowers to look like they were spilling over the sides of the vase, so I opted not to stamp the stems, and I just fussy cut that part off.  I also used the vase die to die cut a white cardstock vase.  Then I used an embossing folder to create a geometric white vase, similar to those that I have seen in all the cute home decor stores.

I used a piece of pattern paper from the Pinkfresh Studio Just a Little Lovely scrapbook collection, called one fine day.  I added some machine stitching around the edges, and added some more white paint splatters.  After attaching all the elements with varying heights of foam tape, I stamped the “smiles and hugs” sentiment with VersaMark ink and heat set with white embossing powder on black cardstock.   To finish off this card, I added some pink crystals.

For the next card, I used the Delicate Wreath stamp set, and the Pinkfresh watercolor in the color candy apple.

I started off this card by painting layers of water color to create a cool ombre effect using the Pinkfresh watercolor and watercolor paper.  Besides the watercoloring, this card is clean and simple.  Once my background was dry, I trimmed it to about 4 x 5.25 in.  I used Versafine onyx black ink to stamp the wreath and the “big hugs” sentiment.  I stamped the “here for you” sentiment with VersaMark ink and heat set with white embossing powder on black cardstock.

For my third card, I used the Modern Bloom background stand alone cuts die.

I diecut the background die 2 times from white cardstock and glued them together for some dimension.  For my background, I used Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar to lightly add some pink color.  I did use a ink blending brush, and I had some pink ink left on the brush from a previous project (I was using Distress ink in Picked Raspberry), so the pink shade is just a tad darker.  I stamped the “faraway hugs” sentiment from the Floral Vase stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat set with white embossing powder on black cardstock.  I used one of the Pinkfresh Fancy Label Frames stand alone cuts dies to die cut the sentiment.  I also die cut it 2 more times from black cardstock, and glued them all together for dimension.

I really love how these cards turned out…the August 2019 release is awesome!  I hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty!

  1. Really beautiful. I would not have thought to do the Delicate Wreath in black, but it is perfect for fall against your pretty background.
