3D basket, and a bunny Easter card, featuring Spellbinders March 2020 LDOM

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a small bunny basket and an Easter card featuring Spellbinders’ Large Die of the Month kit (LDOM) called Basket Full of Bunnies.  The kit comes with 9 dies that you can create a 3D basket, a card, or embellishments for a memory keeping project. For my projects, I made a basket and a card:

I filmed a process video for my YT channel (junglebarrya):

I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 die cutting machine and some cardstock scraps to die cut all of my pieces. You will be able to see in detail how I put these projects together in my YT process video.

For my first project, I made a basket.

I filled my basket with chocolate eggs for Easter. I think this basket would be a perfect gift for teens; you could fill this with their favorite candy and a gift card or a small gift like lipgloss, instead of a big basket filled with toys. I think these would look great on a desk or a table with your guest’s name on them as a place setting.

For my card, I used a few pieces from the Spellbinders March 2020 GOM. Here is my blog post for that kit.

I put together the basket and bunnies just like I did for the 3D basket. For my background, I used distress oxide inks and a cloud stencil. I added the foiled eggs and the sentiment from the Spellbinders March 2020 GOM.

To finish off my projects, I added some glossy accents to the eyes and nose, as well as some clear glitter Nuvo drops to the center of my flowers.

I love the way these Easter projects turned out, and I hope you do too. Don’t forget to check out the Spellbinders site for all this Large Die of the Month!

Happy Tuesday!

3 spring cards, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing 3 cards that I made using the January 2020 Hip Kit Club kits.

I filmed a process video for my YT channel (junglebarrya):

I thought it would be fun to show how I used pieces that I had left over from other projects to make these cards.

For the first card, I used the left over rainbow from the Pinkfresh Studio pattern paper to create a St. Patrick’s Day card.

I added lots of texture with machine stitching, rough edges, and dimension.

Here is the layout that I had the leftover rainbow pieces from:

For my next card, I actually made a mistake by not cutting off the branding strip on the cardstock before trimming my cardbase. I ended up trimming off the card base to one side so that the inside of the card shows a little bit. I filled the inside with the blue constellation pattern paper.

I had leftover layered stitched hearts, so I used those on this card. The sentiments are from the Pinkfresh Studio ephemera pack.

Here is the layout I had the leftover layered hearts from:

For the final card, I decided to make a bow from Pinkfresh Studio. I demonstrate how to make a bow in the video, if you’re unsure.

I decided to keep this one clean and simple. I used a Pinkfresh Studio pattern paper for my background, and since it’s pretty busy, I added a sentiment, a bow, and a few glittered enamel dots.

I’m so thrilled with how my cards turned out, and I hope I’ve inspired you to use some of your scrappy leftovers to make some cute cards!

Happy Sunday!

3 winter cards, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing 3 cards that I made using the December 2019 Hip Kit Club kits.

I also filmed a process video for my YT channel (junglebarrya) if you’re interested:

I was challenged to create cards with interactive elements, and when I think of interactive cards, I immediately think of shaker cards. They are my favorite to make!

For my wintery background, I ink blended Distress Oxide inks. I also white heat embossed white snowflakes using the Crate Paper stamp set. To fill my shaker, I used sequins and fake snow that I got from the craft store. The sentiment bubble, snowman, and penguin are Hip Kit Club exclusive ephermera.

For my next card, I made a vellum envelope using my WeRMK 123 punchboard.

I used a Hip Kit Club exclusive tag, and the stickers on the tag are HKC exclusives as well. The background paper and the foiled stars are from Crate Paper.

For my last card, I decided to make a winter Valentine card. I made a heart shaped card.

The background paper is from Heidi Swapp, and I stamped some more of the same Crate Paper snowflakes using Distress Oxide ink. The snowpeople are fussy cut from Crate Paper paper. The “warm hearts” sentiment and red heart are from the HKC exclusive ephemera pack.

I hope you like how my cards turned out. For a more in-depth process explanation, I encourage you to check out my video. Don’t forget to check out the Hip Kit Club website for all these kit goodies!

Happy Wednesday!

December Daily 2019, days 21 & 22, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends! Happy 2020!

Today I’m sharing days 21 & 22 of my December Daily 2019 album. I am slowly, but surely making some progress! I used the HKC December Documented 2019 kit, as well as the November & December 2019 Hip Kits.

I filmed a process video on my YT channel (junglebarrya):

For day 21, the girls decorated gingerbread houses. I chose the 4 3×4 pocket page for the left, and the 2 4×6 pocket page on the right. I am definitely a photo heavy scrapbooker, so there are tons of photos. I didn’t leave myself enough room to journal, so I ended up handwriting my journaling in the white space of one of my photos.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE HACK: If you buy a gingerbread house kit where the house is NOT preassembled, use a hot glue gun to assemble your houses for a faster and stronger hold, then cover the seams with frosting!

I stamped my number using the HKC exclusive stamp set (from the DD kit) and die cut it with a metal tag die, then added a date stamp just as I’ve been doing on previous pages. I love the continuity of the dates. I used a house snowglobe because I thought it was fit a page about gingerbread houses.

For my day 22, I made a spread about wrapping gifts:

On the right, I have a large 6×8 photo of some of the wrapped presents. On the left side, I had the back side of day 21, with the 2 4×6, to fill. I used the beautiful Crate Paper foiled pattern paper from the HKC December paper kit. I typed my journaling on my typewriter, and adhered it to the pattern paper.

For the bottom 4×6 slot, I used a journaling card from the DD kit that says “santa’s coming.” I decided to stamp and gold heat emboss my number on one of the tags that I used for wrapping presents. (The gift tags are from Target a few years ago.) Like my other tags, I also added the date stamp. I decided to use ribbon that I had left over from gift wrapping as well.

For the large photo, I wanted it to stay out of the page protector, so I made little hole punched ring tabs by trimming down a HKC journaling card, and hole punching.

I really am loving everything in my DD album so far. I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for your pages!

Happy Friday!

December Daily 2019, day 12, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey friends! I’m back with another December Daily 2019 post. I am using a combination of the Hip Kit Club 2019 December Documented kit and the November kits.

As I mentioned in my last DD blog post, I am a bit behind on my DD album this year, and I’m working out of order. Today, I’m sharing my day 12.

I filmed a process video on my YT channel if you’re interested:

On the 12th, I was feeling pretty strongly with Mom Guilt. I had been looking through previous DD albums, and I commented on my daughters’ cute crafty projects. I also noted that I hadn’t really done anything like that with my youngest daughter yet, so I decided to give her some one-on-one time. I already had a holiday necklace kit that I bought a couple weeks ago, so she got to make the necklace, with minor help from me, and we made a paper pieced Christmas tree. It was her first time using scissors, so she was extra excited! Not only was she excited to cut and glue, but I got to keep the end result for my album, lol!

I wanted to stick her craft project right into my album, so you can feel the texture. I needed something to back the project with, and at first, I was considering a pattern paper, but I decided to make my own by stamping with the HKC exclusive stamp set from the November 2019 PL kit.

I also needed a place for my number, so I stamped 12 with the number stamp set from the HKC DD kit on a HKC exclusive journaling card, and heat embossed it with the gold embossing powder that came in the DD festive color kit. I added a HKC exclusive puffy sticker sentiment, and then I diecut it with a tag die.

The ink I used is AE Rose Garden, and the tag I used is the Pinkfresh Studio Fillable tag with pocket die set.

On the left side, I have a full page photo of my daughter proudly sporting her new necklace. I wanted to add just a little something, so I used the HKC exclusive puffy stickers, and put the word MERRY at the top.

Once you flip the number insert, you’ll see my daughter’s tree craft on the left, and more photos and my journaling on the right.

I just love how clean and simple it looks…just my style! I used a HKC exclusive journaling card to write my journaling. I also added a chipboard banner sticker to the 4×6 photo.

I love how my day 12 spread turned out! I also love that I was able to incorporate my love for stamping into my DD album.

I hope I’ve inspired you to work on your DD album as well. If you’re right on track, that’s awesome, but don’t worry if you’re behind…I’m right there with you, ha!

I can’t believe Christmas is in just 5 days! I’m not ready, haha!

Have an awesome Friday!

3 cute holiday tags, featuring the Spellbinders November 2019 Large DOM

Hello friends!  Today I’m sharing 3 holiday tags that I made using the Spellbinders November 2019 Large Die of the Month kit (DOM) called Santa’s Helpers. I also used the add on kit called Santa’s Reindeer to make the deer tag.

I made a process video for my YT channel (junglebarrya):

In the video, I show you how to use the dies to create these cute holiday tags.

For the Large Die of the Month, you can create Santa and a girl or boy elf. I made my elf a girl, because the little braids were too cute!

With the add-on, I created a cute little Rudolph reindeer tag. I think he might be my favorite!

I used cardstock that I had left over from the Spellbinders Merry Everything Christmas kit, which I blogged about here. I also used some cardstock scraps from my stash, as usual.

In my video, I also share some tips on how to add a little more detail to the diecut tags. I used Prismacolor pencils, a Sakura white gel pen, and Copic Markers.

I hope you like my tags…I love how they turned out! Don’t forget to check out the Spellbinders site for the different club kits, like the Large Die of the Month or the Glimmer Foil of the Month, as well as lots of other crafty goodies!

Happy Wednesday!

2 cute cards, featuring Spellbinders August 2019 GOM

Hello friends!  Today I’m sharing 2 cards to I created with the August 2019 Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month (GOM), called All Occasion Pennants.

ahsang sb augGOM 1

This month, you get 5 pennant hot plates that have a different sentiment on them, as well as a coordinating die and a die for the stick/string.  You also get a roll of prism hot foil.

ahsang sb augGOM 3

I also had some Spellbinders Die D-Lites in my stash from a previous project, which you can see here, and I wanted to use them again because they are so cute!  For my backgrounds, I created some alcohol inked panels that I trimmed down.

For my first card, I used the “Hooray” pennant.  I hot foiled it on yellow cardstock and I used the prism foil.  I die cut the pennant using the coordinating die, and I die cut the stick in brown cardstock.  I used the Lion, Oh My! dies to create this cute little lion using cardstock from my stash.  Doesn’t the little lion look so dapper and cute?!

ahsang sb augGOM 4

For my second card, I used the “Bday” pennant, and I used the polished brass foil.  Again, using the coordinating dies, I die cut the pennant.  I also die cut the stick in coral cardstock.  For this card, I used the Woliver dies to create this cute little walrus.  I added some Nuvo white blizzard to the walrus’ pom poms, and the ice pieces.

ahsang sb augGOM 5

To finish off my cards, I attached the background to white A2 sized card bases with fun foam.  I attached the pennants and cute little animals with foam squares.  Then, I added some of the FSJ Starry Night sequins for a little more interest.

If you’re interested, I did film a YT process video featuring a few of the Spellbinders Die D-Lites a while back.  The lion is on there, but the walrus is not.  Here is the link:

Also, if you’re new to the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system, here is my first YT video explaining how to use it:

I really hope you like my cards, and picked up some inspiration.  I had a blast making them!

3 cards, featuring Hip Kit Club June 2019 Kits

Hey friends!  Today I’m sharing 3 cards that I made using the June 2019 Hip Kit Club kits. I am using lots of Heidi Swapp and Vicki Boutin products.

ahsang HKC 3cardsJUL 1

I was challenged to use the new sketch for my cards.  Since the sketch is relatively simple, I was able to be inspired by it for my cards.  I looked at the big photo as the focal point of the card, the journaling as the sentiment, and the stars as the embellishments.   Here is the sketch:

sketch 7.19

I also filmed a process video for the Hip Kit Club YT channel.

For my first card, I used the Heidi Swapp black and white pattern paper.  I used the Amy Tangerine 3D suede flowers in a different way, by unraveling them, and using them as fringe.  I added 3 birds and the sentiment from the Vicki Boutin chipboard stickers.

ahsang HKC 3cardsJUL 3

For my second card, I used the same Heidi Swapp b&w pattern paper.  The pink pattern paper is from the cut apart paper from Vicki Boutin, and the butterfly is a VB ephemera.  I made my own sentiment banner by stamping the “finding the beauty in every day” stamp from Heidi Swapp.  I finished the card with holographic chipboard stars from VB.

ahsang HKC 3cardsJUL 4

For my last card, I believe I used all VB products.  I really wanted to incorporate the fussy cut rainbow hears, so I made this simple card.  What makes it pop is all the different layers that I created by using foam tape.

I really hope you were inspired by my cards.  I have really enjoyed creating these cards using scrapbooking supplies.  Don’t forget to check out the Hip Kit Club website for the June and July 2019 kits.

Father’s Love, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  Today I have a layout to share with you featuring the Hip Kit Club May 2019 kits.  I made a Father’s Day themed layout, inspired by the Hip Kit Club June mood board.

Here is the mood board:

I was inspired by the black and white sketchy images, as well as the quote on the top right.  I love the all uppercase font.

Here is my layout:

I filmed a YT process video if you’re interested:

Since my girls are in the photo with my Dad and husband, I could cheat a little bit and have a pink and blue color theme.

I decided to have a lot of layers, and create a banner to highlight my photo.  I actually took this photo when my parents came to visit, specifically for this Hip Kit Club assignment, and I’m so glad I did.  I love the way it turned out!

I use several Crate Paper layers under my photo.  I used pattern papers, a frame that I cut in half, and the “count your lucky stars” polaroid embellishment that I cut out from a pattern paper.

ahsang HKC fathers 3

I embellished the banner with a few Hip Kit Club exclusives: the fabric bow, and the binder clip from the HKC ephemera pack.

ahsang HKC fathers 4

For my title, I used a mixture of the Hip Kit Club alphas, as well as the fun thickers from the kits.  I really love a mixed title, and I love the uppercase fonts!

ahsang HKC fathers 5

I used another die cut layered heart that I like to make with each kit to embellish the bottom of my layout.  I also used a lot of the Crate paper clear stickers to add interest.

I love the way this layout turned out, and I love that I have this wonderful photo in my album.  I hope you were inspired by my layout!

Don’t forget to check out the HKC website as well as my process video!

Happy Tuesday!

3 cards, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello crafty friends!  Today I’m sharing 3 cards that I made using the May 2019 Hip Kits.  I used the Main Kit, Embellishment Kit, and Cardstock Kit.  Whenever I make cards with scrapbooking supplies, I’m all about texture, layers, and dimension.  These cards would definitely not fit in an envelope, lol, but I usually pit them in a gift bag along with the gift.

ahsang HKC 3cards 2

I also filmed a process video if you’re interested:

For my first card, I made 3 cute rosettes.  I was super inspired by the Dear Lizzy ones that we got in last month’s Hip Kits.  I trimmed patter paper down to 1 1/4 in (pink Pinkfresh Studio), 1 in (blue Paige Evans), and a little under 1 in (rainbow Paige Evans).  I added die cut hearts to the center, and some hashtag word strips that I fussy cut from a Dear Lizzy pattern paper.  I used 2 Paige Evans pattern paper for my background, adhered it to a white card base using fun foam, and added sequins to finish off my card.

ahsang HKC 3cards 3ahsang HKC 3cards 4

For my next card, I wanted to use the striped Crate Paper pattern paper.  I used the “Hey Girl” glitter chipboard sticker from Crate Paper, a Hip Kit Club exclusive fabric bow, a few sequins and stickers, and an orange card base.

ahsang HKC 3cards 7ahsang HKC 3cards 8

For my last card, I used a blue card base, and the Pinkfresh Studio pattern paper.  I wanted a cluster of all the pretty things, so I adhered them to a doily that we got from a few color kits back.  I used one of my layered die cut hearts, a chipboard sticker, a HKC exclusive ephemera flower and fabric bow, and a few Crate Paper stickers.  For my sentiment, I used a couple more hashtag strips, and a Crate Paper chipboard sticker.

ahsang HKC 3cards 5ahsang HKC 3cards 6

I am really pleased with how my cards turned out, especially the rosette one.  I hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty.  Cards are a great way to use up leftover pieces from your kits…I encourage you to give it a try!

Happy Tuesday!
