3D Fun Time Cruisers, featuring Spellbinders July 2019 Large DOM

Hello friends!  Today I’m sharing a couple of 3D tricycles that I made using the Spellbinders July 2019 Large Die of the Month kit (DOM).  This month the kit is called 3D Fun Time Cruiser.

The July LDOM comes with all the dies you need to create these fun tricycles.  You also get a “fun times” sentiment, as well as a few floral and greenery pieces.  These trikes make the cutest decoration for your craft room, or you can make a foldable version to put in the envelope.  To create a foldable version, you just leave the bottoms off of the baskets.  You can also make a 2D tricycle to glue onto a card…there are lots of options with these dies!

I also filmed a YT process video if you’re interested!

For the coral colored trike that I made for the video, I chose a nostalgic color scheme, and I used the fun times sentiment on the basket.

For my first trial run, I created a cute trike with classic colors.  I decorated it with white flowers and a couple of leaves.  I remember when I was younger there was a bike that I wanted so badly…it was pink with a banana seat, lots of streamers coming off the handles, and a white basket with white daisies.  LOL…it was very much like the bike that Ross gives Phoebe on an episode of FRIENDS.

I hope you check out the July Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders, and I hope you check out my process video to see how you put it all together.

2 slider cards, featuring the Spellbinders June 2019 Large DOM kit

Hello friends!  Today I’m sharing a couple of slider cards that I made using the Spellbinders June 2019 Large Die of the Month kit (DOM).  This month the kit is called Festive Wreaths Slider, and it includes all the pieces to make a slider card, as well as lots of different themed elements to decorate the wreath, such as stars, hearts, flowers and leaves, and they even included seasonal items like snowflakes, bunnies and Easter eggs.

I created a process video on my YT channel:

If you watch my video, you can see how I die cut all the elements, and attach them together to create these cute slider wreath cards.

The first card I created was the pink floral card.

ahsang sb JuneDOTM 4

I was still trying to figure out how to use the dies, and my biggest tip would be for you to use heavy weight cardstock for the middle inside panel (the one that you pull).  If you use a light weight cardstock, the slider is flimsy and isn’t as smooth when you try to push it in.  My other tip for you would be to cut the half circle die 3 times instead of 2.  That way, the top of the wreath, the part that isn’t attached to the card, will be sturdier and have a clean look from the back.

For the sentiments for both of my cards, I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine, and my favorite Everyday Sentiments II hot plate set.

The second card that I created was a gender neutral birthday option, and I used the stars as my embellishments.

ahsang sb JuneDOTM 3

You could totally go all the way around the circle with the embellishments, but I liked created just a couple of embellishments on both of my cards.

I just love interactive cards (hence my love of shaker cards), and these were so much fun to create!  I hope you check out my process video, as it is so much easier to show you how to assemble them rather than write out the steps.

2 cards, featuring Spellbinders So Many Sentiments truck add-on Dies

Hello friends!  I am so excited to share 2 cards with you, featuring the Spellbinders So Many Sentiments add-on dies for the Truck dies from the October 2018 Large Die of the Month.  The Truckin Through the Seasons LDOM set has been restocked, so if you missed out last October, now’s your chance to get them!

I’ve got a YT process video, if you are interested:

When I made my cards last October, I made a fall and a winter themed card.  You can see the 2 cards that I made for that LDOM in my blog post here.  This time around, I wanted to make Spring/ Summer themed cards.  Here is what I came up with using the truck dies, and 2 of the new sentiments:

ahsang sb trucksentiments 1

I made a green CONGRATS truck, and I had my niece’s high school graduation in mind when I made this card.  (Her school’s colors are green and white.)  I decided to fill the truck with pretty florals.  All the dies came in the Truckin Through the Seasons set, including the florals, with the exception of the tailgate sentiment piece, which is from the So Many Sentiments Set.

ahsang sb trucksentiments 2

For the background, I ink blended a sky with clouds.  I added a few more florals, gold stars, and Liquid Pearls in white opal to finish my card.

ahsang sb trucksentiments 3

For the next card, I thought I might use it as a teacher appreciation card for the end of the school year.

ahsang sb trucksentiments 4

I made the truck classic red, and the sentiment I chose was UR GREAT.  I also filled this truck with pretty florals.

For the background, I used a pattern paper from my stash.  It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the left side has a rough ripped edge.  I also folded the top left corner, and attached it down with tiny staples.  For the sentiment, I used the Everyday Sentiments II and the rose gold foil.  I added some more of the Liquid Pearls in white opal to finish off my card.

ahsang sb trucksentiments 5

I love, love, love these truck dies and sentiments!  I think these cards turned out so cute, and I hope you do too!  If you didn’t grab the truck dies last October, don’t wait to get it this time!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy Tuesday!

Best Wishes card, featuring Spellbinders May 2019 GOM

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far.  Today I’m sharing a Best Wishes card, using the Spellbinders May 2019 Glimmer Hot Foil of the Month (GOM).  I also used the flower and leaves dies from the May 2019 Large Die of the Month (LDOM).

ahsang sb MayGOM 1

On a piece of white cardstock, I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System to hot foil the filigree frame with the Polished Brass foil, which both came in the GOM.  Next, I used Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Abandoned Coral with an old makeup brush to ink blend right on top of the hot foil.  I hadn’t tried foiling first, then ink blending before, so this was a bit of an experiment.  After all the ink blending, I took a paper towel to buff off the residual ink on the foiling.  I will admit that the ink blending and the buffing did dull down the foiling a little bit, so I will stick to ink blending then foiling next time.  Using the oval die that came with the filigree frame, I die cut an oval from the center of the cardstock.  I then trimmed it down to slightly less than A2 sized.

ahsang sb MayGOM 3

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I used the “Best Wishes” sentiment that came with the Glimmer Hot Foil machine, and the same foil that I used for the frame.  I used foam tape on the back of the filigree frame panel, and adhered it the the Best Wishes panel.  Next, I adhered the entire thing to an A2 sized white card base.

I added some die cut flowers and leaves from the May LDOM to my card.  I finished it off using liquid pearls in brass and white opal.

I love how elegant and feminine my card turned out.  I hope you do too!  Don’t forget to check out all of the Spellbinders Clubs for kits filled with awesome value.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Sunday!

2 cards, featuring Spellbinders May 2019 Large Die of the Month

Hi crafty friends!  Today I’m sharing 2 cards that I created using the Spellbinders April 2019 Large Die of the Month kit.  This kit contains all the dies you need to create the cutest cards, from birthday to wedding, to general congrats cards.  The kit features metal dies to make a dimensional cake with beautiful flowers, and all the accessories.

ahsang sb MayDOTM 1

I made a YT process video, if you’d like to see the dies in action!

For the first card, I made a birthday card for my sister.  This kit is perfect for birthdays, because not only are there candles, but there are numbers as well.  She turned 36, so that is what I used as my cake topper.

ahsang sb MayDOTM 2

I used Distress Oxide ink in Spun Sugar and white cardstock to create a light pink ombre cake.  On another piece of white cardstock, I used Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade to add ink to my background.  I used a MFT stencil to add some sunshine-ie rays to the background.

While those inked panels were drying, I die cut the 3 and the 6 from gold glitter cardstock using my Platinum machine.  I also die cut the 2 different flower and leaf sizes using cardstock scraps from my stash.  I cut the flowers from purple, dark purple, blue, pink, and gold glitter cardstock.  I cut the leaves from dark green and light green cardstock.  Then, I die cut the cake layers from the pink ink blended panel.

ahsang sb MayDOTM 3

To put my card together, I used fun foam to adhere the background panel to the card base.  I used strong double sided tape to attach the cake layers, and I used liquid glue to attach all the little details.

I put the sentiment on the inside of the card, and I used the Spellbinders Sentimental Words stamp set.  I used my Misti and Archival jet black ink for the perfect stamped image.

ahsang sb MayDOTM 4

For my next card, I made a card that would be great for a wedding or even an anniversary.

ahsang sb MayDOTM 5

I made this card in a very similar fashion as my first card.  For the background, I used Distress Oxide ink in Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass.  I used the same floral colors, but instead of using the smaller flowers for the middle, I used small pearls instead.  For the sentiment, I used “Best Day Ever,” which is a sticker from the Spellbinders Relax & Enjoy sticker sentiments.  Since it is a velum sticker, I stuck it to a piece of white cardstock first, then cut it out leaving a slight border.

ahsang sb MayDOTM 6

I am so happy with this month’s Large DOTM kit.  I think it is a really versatile set, and I just love how pretty you can make your cards…the dimension and detail are awesome.

Check out the Spellbinders site for the different club kits, like the Large Die of the Month or the Glimmer Foil of the Month, as well as lots of other crafty goodies!  Thanks for hanging out!

Happy Wednesday!

3 gift card holders, featuring Spellbinders April 2019 Large Die of the Month

Hi everyone!  Today I’m sharing 3 gift card holders that I created using the Spellbinders April 2019 Large Die of the Month kit.  This kit contains all the dies you need to create a gift back gift card holder…everything from the tassels and the tissue paper.  I plan on giving these as teacher gifts, but they would be great for any occasion!

ahsang sb AprDOTM 1

I also filmed a YouTube process video that might be helpful to see how everything is put together:

For the first gift card holder, I used all the dies (except the tag) to create the gift card holder.  I also added some white flowers and mint colored enamel dots.

ahsang sb AprDOTM 4ahsang sb AprDOTM 5

For the next gift card holder, I used ribbon instead of the die cut handles.  I used the tag for this one, and I used the Spellbinders Thanks a bunch stamp set to stamp the word “thanks.”  I also die cut a scalloped circle from printer paper to look like a doily.  The die was from the Many Thanks LDOTM kit.  I then added a vellum butterfly sticker.  For the sentiment strip, I used the Glimmer Foil machine, along with the Everyday Sentiments II and the Matte Silver Foil.  I added some pearls for extra interest.

ahsang sb AprDOTM 6ahsang sb AprDOTM 7

For my last gift card holder, I made 3 tassels with the colors inspired by an alcohol ink project.  The alcohol ink colors I used are Flamingo, Amethyst, and Patina, and I used white yupo paper.

That’s it for me!  I hope you like my projects, and are inspired to create something with these amazing dies.

5 cards, featuring Spellbinders

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing 5 cards that I made with the Spellbinders February 2019 Large Die of the Month kit.  These kits are such a great value…you get so many dies!  Once I got started, I just couldn’t stop making them!  It’s not a surprise since I love butterflies so much!

ahsangsbfebdotm2

I also used the “Thanks” and “Love you” sentiments from the Thanks a bunch stamp sets. For the sentiments, I stamped them on black cardstock with Versamark ink, and heat set with white embossing powder.

First, I took some scrap watercolor paper, and did some loose watercolor painting with Distress Inks.  I just picked some colors that worked well together, and painted them on separate pieces of paper.  I have lots of mini ink cubes, which you can find here.  Once dry, I used some as backgrounds, and I used some for die cutting.

The first 3 cards I made with the large butterfly dies.  There are several dies that you could layer to build different butterflies.  I love how these came out!

For this card, I used some different blue colors for the background, and I die cut the butterflies from light pink cardstock.  I added some machine stitching, clear sparkling sequins, and the Love You sentiment.

ahsangsbfebdotm3ahsangsbfebdotm8

For the next card, I used yellow, orange, and red colors for the background.  I also die cut the butterfly from light pink cardstock, and this time used 3 layers for the butterfly.  I added some black gems, and the sentiment.

ahsangsbfebdotm4ahsangsbfebdotm11

For the last butterfly card, I made it into a square card.  I kept the background white, and die cut the butterfly from the watercolor paper instead.  I adhered the sentiment right on top of the butterfly.  I love how crisp & clean this card turned out!

ahsangsbfebdotm5ahsangsbfebdotm9

I thought that I should give some of the other dies some attention, lol, so I made a couple more cards.

For this card, I die cut a lot of the leaf dies from watercolor paper that I had painted with different greens.  I arranged them in a wreath, and added some machine stitching.  I die cut the “bonjour” sentiment 3 times, and glued them together for dimension.  I glued the sentiment in the middle of the wreath, but I only added glue to the middle letters.  I also die cut a few of the little flowers from the leftover pink water color paper, and added some white pearls to the center.

ahsangsbfebdotm7ahsangsbfebdotm10

When I was gathering all the scraps of watercolor paper, I really liked the way the green one looked with all the greenery cut out.  I decided to make another card, using the scrap as a panel on the card.  I added a few more flowers that I cut out from the leftover pink watercolor paper, and added pearls on top.  I added the Love You sentiment, but I heat set it in gold embossing powder this time.  To add even more interest, I added some gold ink splatters.

ahsangsbfebdotm6

I really love how my cards turned out, and I hope you do too!  Don’t forget to check out the Spellbinders website for lots of goodies!

Happy Sunday!
