December Daily, days 19 & 20, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  Today I’m sharing a couple more pages in my 2019 December Documented album.  I’m still using my Hip Kit Club December Documented kit, and this is my first time using the new December 2019 kits.  I will most likely keep using some pieces of my November 2019 kits, because I want to keep my album cohesive, but I’m loving how all these kits go together so well!

In my previous assignments, I had mentioned that I am behind, and working out of order, but I am so pleased that I’m making some progress on my DD album!  I am sharing days 19 & 20 today.

I was challenged to use some of my favorite products, and I have to say that I have been loving the number stamp set in the DD kit, the journaling cards, and the build a scene bits ephemera pack (white diecuts).

For day 19, I am documenting some very special happy mail that I got all the way from Denmark.  (Thank you again Hanne!)

On the left side, I have a full size photo that I cut into a tag.  I made a 19 date tag with the number stamp set, and put a gold ribbon through the tags.

On the left side, I made a double pocket page using a Crate Paper pattern paper from the December Main kit, and some velum.  I filled my pockets with some of the packaging from the chocolate boxes that my friend sent me, as well as a photo strip, and my journaling.  I used a 4×6 journaling card from the December PL kit.  I carefully peeled off the stamps from the package, and adhered it to my journaling card, so it looks like a postcard!

For Day 20, I documented my middle daughter’s holiday party at school.

On the left side, I used the pretty pink plaid pattern paper from Pretty Little Studio (from the Dec 2019 Main kit).  I made a little embellishment banner using some really cute items.  I mad a number date tag, I used one of the snowflakes from the build a scene ephemera pack, I used a few Pinkfresh Studio stickers (from the DD kit), and I fussy cut some pieces from the Crate Paper cut apart pattern paper (from the Dec Main kit).  I really love how this one turned out!  The little gingerbread man is a HKC exclusive from the ephemera pack (Nov kit).

On the other side, I did a 4 3×4 pocket page spread.  I have a 2 photos, and 2 journaling cards.

I really love how my DD spreads turned out, and I hope you do too.  I hope I’ve inspired you to keep working on, finish, or even start your December Documented albums.

Happy Saturday!

Baby Shark, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  I’m sharing a layout that I posted on the Hip Kit Club blog a couple days ago. I created my page using the October 2019 Hip kits.  Today, I am focusing on the Embellishment kit for my Halloween layout. I scrapped this page for Ruby’s album. She was the cutest baby shark last year for Halloween! Love!!!

There are so many goodies in the embellishment kit.  The font on the gold thickers is so pretty, and I love all the Hip Kit Club exclusives.

I decided to use a cut file to frame my photos.  It’s an October subscriber cutfile called leaf wreath, and I cut it from white cardstock using my silhouette machine.  For my background, I used this gorgeous Pretty Little Studio paper.  The color of this paper is spot on for my photos, and I love the painted vibe.  I added just a little more white splatters, then I lightly adhered the wreath, and machine stitched it through the middle.

I backed my photos with a few HKC exlcusive PL cards, and added them to the left side of the layout.  Next I added my title.  I used the pretty gold thickers as well as the tiny puffy alpha.

Next, I embellished with some items from the Embellishment kit.  I used some of the floral and leafy ephemera, as well as some of the stickers (I loved all the tiny hearts).  I used the HKC exclusive stamp set to stamp the stitched heart and the “you’re the best” sentiment.  I also added a few enamel dots along the wreath.

I fussy cut the label from a HKC exclusive PL card, and I used it for my journaling.  To finish off my layout, I added the branding strip from this same paper, and adhered it to the bottom of the layout.

I absolutely love how my layout turned out, and I hope you do too.  I hope you check out these fabulous kits on the Hip Kit Club website.  Did you see the November kits?

Happy Friday!

3 fall themed cards, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing 3 cards that I made with the October 2019 Hip Kits. I was challenged to use the sketch and to make at least one Halloween card.

I also filmed a process video for my YT channel (junglebarrya):

For my first card, I wanted to use some of the sweater images in the kits, as well as the “sweater weather” sentiment. I used the HKC exclusive stamp set to stamp the leaf image repeatedly to create my own background, using distress oxide ink in seedless preserves.

I used a HKC exclusive Pocket Life card, layered the 3 sweaters on top, and added the sentiment sticker. I adhered the entire panel to a purple card base that I made using a piece of cardstock from the cardstock kit.

For my next card, I decided to make the Halloween card. Again, I wanted to use a sweater image, and this one has a jack-o-lantern. I trimmed the “trick or treat” sentiment from a Pocket Life card, and I layered the sweater and the sentiment on another PL card.

I adhered the card to a piece of pattern paper from Pretty Little Studio that I trimmed down and added machine stitching to. I adhered it to a purple card base, using the leftover cardstock from the previous card.

For my last card, I remembered that I was supposed to use a sketch for inspiration.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I used another PL card. I stamped the sentiment on it using the HKC exclusive stamp set, then trimmed it to look like a tag. I adhered some florals on top, mostly from the ephemera pack, but there is one sticker and 2 acetate pieces. I used another piece of pattern paper from Pretty Little Studio as my background, and I adhered it to a coral card base that I made using a sheet from the cardstock kit.

I hope you like my cards, and checked out my process video. Don’t forget to check out the Hip Kit Club website for all the kits, and be sure to stop by the Hip Kit Club Group FB page for more info on the sketch.

Happy Sunday!

This is Halloween mini album, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hi friends!  Today I’m sharing a mini album that I shared on the Hip Kit Club blog the other day.  I made my mini with the September 2019 Hip Kits.  It’s the first week of October, and I’ve got Halloween costumes on my mind…I decided to make an envelope mini album filled with photos of my girls’ costumes through the years.

To start my album, I started off by making envelopes with some of the pattern paper in the kits, as well as the blue cardstock from the Cardstock kit.  I wanted my envelopes big enough to use some of the exclusive PL cards as well as embellish, so I decided to make my envelopes 4 x 5 1/2 inches.  I used my We R MK punchboard to make the envelopes.  I didn’t realize it, but I chose a black & white and blue color scheme.  I wanted another paper to match that color scheme, so I made my own using the Dear Lizzy stamp set.  On a piece of white cardstock, I repeatedly stamped the outline floral image with black ink.  Once I filled the page, I randomly stamped the coordinating filler floral image on a few of the flowers with light blue ink.  After I made the envelopes, I put together my album by adhering the flap of one envelope into the inside of another envelope.  I will try to explain it: on your work surface, place one envelope open side up with the flap up, and the another envelope open side down, and then adhere the flap of the side down envelope to the inside of the side up envelope.  I hope that makes sense, LOL!

I loved the way my stamped paper turned out so much, I made it my cover envelope.  I fussy cut one of the journaling cards from a Dear Lizzy paper and used it as a layer on the cover.  I took a piece of vellum and adhered it to the wreath in the Pretty Little Studio ephemera pack.  I decided to add more detail by using the wreath from the Color kit and white texture paste.  I used a few more Pretty Little Studio pieces, like the cute little owl and the alpha stickers.  A few samped images using the HKC exclusive stamp set and some puffy stickers, and my cover is done!

For the next pages, I used a lot of the exclusive PL cards to back my photos and write my journaling.

I used the HKC exclusive stamp set, and embellished with the Pretty Little Studio die cut ephemera, phrase stickers from Dear Lizzy, and puffy stickers from Paige Evans.

To add interest to my mini album, I added lots of textures: I added stitching, puffy stickers, and enamel shapes.  I also added layers and dimension with foam squares.

I really love how the PL cards accentuate my photos.  They are a perfect layering piece!

I had so much fun making this mini album.  I hope you were inspired by my project, and make your own mini album.  Don’t forget to check out the September kits!

Happy Monday!

Picture Perfect, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  I was on the Hip Kit Club blog a couple days ago with a fun layout, and today, I’m sharing it here.  I was challenged to use the August 2019 Main Kit only, and to focus on the Pretty Little Studio frames.

I have had these cute photos of my family and I using the Zodiac filters on my phone for a while now, so I thought it would be perfect to frame them with the PLS frames, and get them on a layout.  Are you guys big Zodiac believers?  I think it’s fun, and I like to look at the characteristics of my family’s signs, but I don’t really know much.

After I trimmed and framed my photos, I was looking for a pattern paper I wanted to use as my background.  I fell in love with this Paige Evans paper, because I love the words, and the font as well.  I knew I wanted to line up the frames vertically, and the frames are already busy, and the pattern paper is busy, so I used some white gesso to soften the pattern down the middle.  Since I used gesso on the paper anyway, I decided to add a little bit of mixed media.  I just added a touch of soft pink and purple to the center of the background.

I adhered the frames with the photos on the layout first.  Then, I added the “picture perfect” banner title from the Paige Evans ephemera.  I really love it when I can add a pre-made title to my page!

To embellish the layout, I added more flowers and a butterfly from the Paige Evans ephemera.  I added a tiny Pinfrehs Studio 3D ephemera, and some gold glitter enamel dots.  I finished off my layout by adding the journaling strips, mentioning a few characteristics for each of our signs.

I love how this layout turned out!  The Pretty Little Studio frames are so cute, and I am also loving Paige Evans’ new Truly Grateful line; the colors are perfect for these photos!  I hope you were inspired by my layout.  Don’t forget to stop by the Hip Kit Club website, and check out the gorgeous August kits!

Happy Saturday!

Learn new things everyday, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey guys!

Today, I’m sharing a layout I made for the Hip Kit Club Facebook page on Wednesday.  I used the June 2018 Hip kits.  This week we got to choose our own theme or product to focus on, and I chose the Pretty Little Studio journaling tags found in the Embellishment kit.  I thought they would be perfect to use on a school layout.

This is Ellie’s yearbook picture from the 1st grade.  (She will be going to 3rd grade, so I’m behind…ha!)

ahsang HKC Learn 1

I started out by splattering color across the page with a couple Shimmerz from the June Color kit and Vicki Boutin paints that we got in last month’s color kit.  Once dry, I arranged the tags on the cardstock.  I filled in the tag with handwritten journaling, some Pretty Little Studio phrase stickers, and some stamps that we got in previous kits.

I added my title using the green Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers.  Then I machine stitched through the title and tags using colorful thread.  I added my photo, and some flowers around the photo.

I added the Bella Blvd floral paper at the bottom, and I also fussy cut a few flowers and adhered it to the top right and bottom left of the layout.

I am really happy with how my layout turned out!

I used the June 2018 Main kit, Project Life kit, Embellishment kit, Color kit, and the white cardstock from the Cardstock kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!

Hello Little Me, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hi friends!  I have a Hip Kit Club layout to share with you.  I was challenged to use the Pretty Little Studio acetate paper from the Paper Kit.  I used theJune 2018 Hip Kit Club  Cardstock KitColor KitProject Life Kit, the gold puffy hearts from the Embellishment Kit, and the papers found in the Main Kit or Paper Kit.

I was cleaning out my scrap room, and I came across these tiny little photos of me when I was in Elementary school.  I don’t think my daughters have seen these particular photos, so I decided to scrap them.  That way, they’ll be in our family album for them to enjoy, haha.  (Look at me and my fancy puffed sleeves!  Anne of GG would be so proud!)

Here’s what I came up with:

ahsang HKC hellolittleme 1

I made tags with some of the papers in the kits, including the acetate paper.  (Tip: I added adhesive to the acetate only where I knew it would be hidden by the photo.)  I also used the papers to layer different sized circles that I die cut and machine stitched.

I embellished with flowers, some are Pinkfresh Studio ephemera, and there are a couple that I stamped using the Vicki Boutin stamps included in the color kit.  Then I finished with a few Pinkfresh Studio enamel dots and puffy gold hearts.

Here’s a closer look at the story:

That’s it for me today!  I hope you liked walking down memory lane with me, and I hope I inspired you to get crafty.

Happy Friday!
