Hello friends! I created 2 Halloween cards using different pieces from the Hip Kit Club September 2017 Main Kit, Embellishment Kit, Color Kit, and the Project Life Kit for the HKC Facebook page.
You must be thinking how in the world did I make Halloween cards with such a bright and colorful kit…well, I was thinking the same exact thing when I was challenged with the Halloween theme! With just a little bit of creativity and some black cardstock, I think I was able to pull it off! Ha!
I was looking through the Pink Paislee Paige Taylor Evans ephemera pack, and I saw the green book. Then I thought, well what if it was a book of spells? Next thing you know, I’m drawing a witch’s hat on a piece of pattern paper. To age the book and the witch hat, I just added some distress ink to the edges. I added some hand stitching for some texture and added interest. For the background, I used the Echo Park star stencil from the color kit and some twisted citron distress ink from my stash. For my sentiment, I printed a quote I recently saw on a t-shirt “you say WITCH like it’s a bad thing!” onto a piece from the Paige Evans journaling spot package.
For my second card, I spelled out TRICK OR TREAT with the Hip Kit Club exclusive gold alpha. (I’m so glad that you get so many letters…otherwise, I would have run out of vowels already!) I embellished the card with lots of different stars (the two bigger ones are fussy cut from pattern paper, and I added hand stitching), and I love how the yellow star sequins look as if they are glow in the dark!
I really hope you like my cards! I’m just glad I pulled off these Halloween cards from such a bright happy collection!
