December Daily, days 5 & 8, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello everyone!  I hope your December is going joyfully so far.  Today, I’m sharing a couple more pages of my December Daily album.  I am using the HKC 2018 December Documented kit for these pages.

Day 5 is all about our new tree.  Our old tree was looking a little raggedy, so we got a new one for our new house.  We also started a new tradition, and we put up our tree before Thanksgiving, but only lit and bare.  That way, we get to relax after fluffing the tree, which is a job in and of itself, and we get to enjoy the twinkling lights.

On the left, I used the tree pattern paper by My Mind’s Eye, an exclusive HKC journaling card (love when they have lines), and a Pinkfresh Studio chipboard banner.

I used the tree cut file that I made previously when I made my cover album.  (It was a free cut file for day 1 of HKC’s 12 days of giving.)  I adhered it to a transparency I had in my stash, and on the other side, I backed it with pattern paper.

The number 5 is a sticker from the Crate Paper sticker sheet (It was part of the 25).  I love how clean these simple & full pages look!  They really make a statement!

Day 8 is about my youngest getting a “pop” after both her sisters left for their friends’ house.  She was so upset, I needed to cheer her up.  Needless to say, she loved it!  Haha!

ahsang HKC DD5&8 3

On the left, I printed a big photo, and turned it into a tag.  I added the number, which is die cut from the Pebbles 12×12 advent sheet, a pink Crate Paper sticker, and a Pinkfresh Studio enamel dot.  I also used the thickers to spell out the word Pop!  (Love the font on these!)

On the right, I have 3 more photos, and I added a couple stickers to my favorite photo.  I used one of the exclusive journaling cards, and I hand wrote “her smile” at the top, then added my journaling with my computer and printer.

That’s it for me today…I really love how this project is going.  I look forward to December Daily every year, and this year is no different!

Happy Sunday!

December Daily 2018, days 2-4, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  I am so excited to be sharing some December Daily pages with you!  I am sharing days 2-4 of my 2018 album, and for these days, I’m using the Hip Kit Club 2018 December Documented kit.

I also have a YouTube process video, if you’re interested!

For day 2, my story is about our family hike.  The weather was so beautiful, we had to take advantage and go outside!

ahsang HKC DD2-4 1

The number 2 is a cutfile called Scandinavian numbers from the Hip Kit Club 12 days of Giving, which you can get for free from the Hip Kit Club website, as long as you have an account.  I hand wrote a quote that I found on pinterest, and it says “of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt” by John Muir.  The Merry Happy card is an HKC exclusive from the DD kit.

For day 3, my story is about the lights on the house.  It’s our first Christmas in the new house, and my husband was a bit hesitant to put the lights up, since our roof line is steeper and higher than our old house.  He got it done though, and I love it!

ahsang HKC DD2-4 2

Another thing about this story, is my genius purchase of the holiday season.  I bought an outdoor club that’s remote operated.  Now, we don’t have to step outside before going to bed to unplug the lights!  Love it!  I’m going to go get the indoor version for our Christmas tree!  Ha!

For Day 4, the story is: letters to Santa.  We always go to visit Santa early to avoid the lines, but I document the day that the girls write their letters.  This year, I wanted the letters to Santa to be more individualized and personal.  I asked my older daughter to write her letter to Santa on her phone in the Notes app, then screenshot and text it to me.  My middle daughter wrote a classic letter with pictures.  I just had my 2 year old scribble on a pre-made card.

I wanted a more interactive album this year, so I created a pocket page to house the Santa letters.  The front of the pocket is a photo that I made in photoshop of the 3 girls writing their letters.  I absolutely LOVE the way the letters and this spread turned out!

December Daily cover page, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  It’s finally December Daily time!  I love this project so much; this will be my 9th year participating in December Daily, and it’s a tradition that I look forward to every holiday season.  Today I am sharing my cover page, and I am using the Hip Kit Club 2018 December Documented Kit.

ahsang HKC DD cover 1

I started by cutting out a giant 2018 on a 6×8 piece of white cardstock, using my silhouette cameo.  The font is just Times New Roman.  I wanted to highlight the pattern papers in the kit, so I decided to create a paper-pieced quilt under each number.  I traced the numbers on another piece of white cardstock.  Then, I cut down some paper into 1.5 inch squares, cut them in half diagonally, and arranged them.  I wanted that quilted look, so I added some machine stitching.

I wanted to create some depth, so I adhered the 2018 cardstock with foam squares.  I made sure to keep the inner portion of the 0 and 8, and I adhered those with foam squares as well.

I wanted to add a pop of glittery red, which is my favorite color to use for Christmas, so I altered the Pebbles woodgrain phrase sticker, by heat embossing with Versamark ink and red glitter embossing powder from Ranger.  I embossed it twice to be sure to get an even coverage.  I LOVE how it turned out!

I also made this tree that I want to put in my December Daily, but I’m not sure where yet.  It’s a free cut file as a part of Hip Kit Club’s 12 days of giving.  I cut off the tree skirt part of the tree so I could have a bigger tree in my 6×8 album.

I cut the tree from white cardstock, then backed each tiny little space with pattern paper.  The pops of red are from the branding strips of the HKC exclusive paper.  Once I finished backing the tree, I added some machine stitching.

That’s it!  I’m so excited to share my December Daily album.  If you’d like to see other December Daily blog posts, just click on the category.

December Daily, days 18-23, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey there friends!  Today, I am sharing days 18 – 23 of my December Daily album.  I shared most of these pages on the Hip Kit Club blog a few days ago, but I have added a few more pages here as well.

I’m still working on my album, and I am totally okay with that.  I have also decided to document all 31 days of December this year, because we have some exciting things going on that I want to document & remember.

I have been using the gold album, along with the Hip Kit Club December Documented Kit, and the November 2017 Main Kit, Cardstock KitEmbellishment Kit, and Project Life Kit.  I have also added in a few products from the Hip Kit Club December Kits: Embellishment Kit, Main Kit, and Project Life Kit.

Day 18 story: around the house.  I always like to do a spread about some new things I have in the house.  I like to keep adding Christmas decor to my collection little by little every year.  This year, my sister made me a red plaid throw pillow, I bought a few bottle brush trees, and I made some Rae Dunn inspired Christmas ornaments.  I also documented my new ornaments on this page.  I get a couple new ornaments every year, and I like to document that as well!

Day 19 story: my daughter ended up having to stay home from school, and I also took a few photos of Ruby for our bow brand rep.

ahsang HKC DD19 1ahsang HKC DD19 2

Day 20 story: giving.  We put together Christmas gifts for the teachers.  The girls each colored some reindeer (stamps are by Mama Elephant), and we made tags to add to the teacher gifts. E also came home from school bearing gifts for the whole family.  They had an economics fair at her school, and she got to spend $5.00.

Day 21 stories: E’s school party & Winter Wonderland.

ahsang HKC DD21 1ahsang HKC DD21 2

Day 22 story: gingerbread houses.  They were so excited they got to decorate their own this year!

ahsang HKC DD22 1ahsang HKC DD22 2

Day 23 story: making cookies.

That’s it for me!  I’ll be here chugging along with my December Daily album.  What about you?  Did you create a December Daily album?  Are you finished?  I hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Tuesday!

December Daily, days 13, 14, & 17, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  Welcome to another Saturday December Documented share!  It’s Jung, and today I’m sharing days 13, 14 & 17 of my album.  How are you guys doing with your album?  I asked the same question on the HKC Member Forum on Facebook just a few days ago, and many members were still working on theirs or haven’t started yet.  I am still working on mine, and I’m totally ok with that!

I am using the gold album, along with the Hip Kit Club December Documented Kit, and the November 2017 Main Kit, Cardstock KitEmbellishment Kit, and Project Life Kit.  I have also added in a few products from the Hip Kit Club December Kits: the black and white thickers from the Embellishment Kit, the glitter thickers and gorgeous HKC exclusive paper from the Main Kit, and a few project life cards from the Project Life Kit.

Day 17:  Snapchat selfies and Starbucks…a perfect day!  I made a large tag to put in the bag, and I wrote our Starbucks orders on it.

Day 14:  About my 11 year old, and her Santa letter.  I scanned her original letter and printed it out on cardstock.  I also typed out a little holiday Q & A, and had my daughter fill it out.

Day 13:  My 7 year old, and her Santa letter.

ahsang HKC DD13 1ahsang HKC DD13 2

That’s it for me today.  I will be chugging along with my December Documented album until I finish.  I have one last Saturday December Daily post on the Hip Kit Club blog next week.  I hope you get crafty!

Happy Tuesday!

December Daily, days 10 & 12, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas!  I’m sure we are all recovering from the early morning and all the food.  Ha!  Today I’m sharing days 10 & 12 of my album.  I don’t work on my album every night, but I am making time for this project, and still loving it.

I am using the gold album, along with the Hip Kit Club December Documented Kit, and the November 2017 Main Kit, Cardstock KitEmbellishment Kit, and Project Life Kit.  I have been loving the 3×4 cards in the Project Life Kit and the December Documented Kit… these cards make it so easy: you can stick one in a pocket as is (like the Believe in the Magic of Christmas card), or you can punch them out (like the presents card I punched into a circle), and they make journaling a breeze!

Here is my day 10:  We went to see Santa in November, but I’m sharing it on day 10.  (Also, in Texas, Santa wears cowboy boots, haha!)

ahsang HKC DD10 1ahsang HKC DD10 2

Here is my day 12:  Stewart, our elf, managed to cleverly stow himself away in a glass pitcher, so the girls could safely take him around all over the place without touching him.  My 7 year old LOVED it!  On the left is a series of photos I took of my girls and the elf, and you can see the baby got a hold of the lid.  The looks on my 7 yr old face is priceless!

That’s it for me today.  I hope you have been liking my December Daily series, and I hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty.

Happy Tuesday!
