Summer layout, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hello friends!

Today I’m sharing a summer themed layout that I created using the Hip Kit Club July 2019 kits.  I was challenged to create a project using a cutfile, so I decided to use the free HKC subscriber cutfile from July 2019 called Circle Background.

I ended up copying the cutfile 4 times, resizing it, and molding it together to create a smaller circle background.  I backed some of the circles with pattern paper from the kits, keeping a pink yellow orange color palette.  I used foam tape behind the backed circle and adhered it to a sheet of white cardstock.

Since the background is busy, I didn’t want to over embellish.  I added my 2 photos, and the I placed the title right on top of one of the photos.

I added a few more embellishments around the photos…those summer themed HKC exclusive ephemera were perfect for this layout!

I trimmed down the white cardstock, and mounted it on a sheet of pattern paper from Pinkfresh Studio.  I added just 2 tiny strips of journaling to finish my layout.

I love how my layout turned out, and I hope you were inspired.  Don’t forget to check out the Hip Kit Club website, and take a look at the July and August 2019 Hip Kits!

3 monochromatic cards, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey friends!  Today I am sharing 3 cards that I created using the July 2019 Hip Kit Club kits.  I was challenged to create monochromatic cards, and to include stitching.  I made 3 coordinative cards with tags, and lots of texture and dimension.

I have a coordinating process video on my YT channel if you are interested:

For my first card, I chose a yellow/orange color scheme.  I pieced together small strips of pattern paper to create a weave texture.  The background paper and puffy sticker sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio, the paper strips are Bella Blvd and Webster’s Pages, and the flowers are HKC exclusives.

For my second card, I chose a pink color scheme.  The background paper is Echo Park, and the bird is fussy cut from Webster’s Pages pattern paper.  The tag paper, the fussy cut flower, and the puffy stickers are from Pinkfresh Studio.

For my last card, I chose a lavender purple color scheme.  The background paper, the tag paper, and the puffy sticker elements are from Pinkfresh Studio.  The other ephemera are Hip Kit Club exclusives.

I love how these turned out.  I tend to make plain and simple projects, and really let the individual products shine.  I really hope you like my cards.  Don’t forget to check out the Hip Kits!

Happy Monday!

Beautiful Eight, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey friends!

Who has tried fringe details on a layout?
This week, I was challenged to make a project with fringe. I’m working with the June 2018 Hip Kit Club Main kit, Project Live kit, Embellishment kit, and Color kit.

I made a layout about my middle girl turning 8.  I’ve always thought that this was the age when you started growing up.  My girl has done a lot of growing up, but I love that she still has a lot of “little” left in her.

I made fringe by cutting 1.25 inch strips of the Bella Blvd floral paper and plain white copy paper. I hand cut slits in the paper, leaving about 1/4 inch at the top. I glued down the tops of the fringe paper onto scrap pieces of paper, starting from the bottom and layering each strip on top.

Using my silhouette, I cut out a few circles in various sizes across the pink cardstock.  I added some Shimmerz paint splatter to the cardstock.  Once dry, I added the hand stitching around the 3 big circles.   Then I backed these circles with the fringe paper, and other scraps of pattern paper.  I added some more machine stitching and hand stitching around the rest of the circles.

I added the photos, title, journaling.  Then I added all the fun embellishments to finish off my layout.

I really love how this project turned out, and I hope you give handmade fringe a try!

If you’re interested, I used fringe on another layout, which you can read about in this post, and funnily enough, it was a layout about my girl turning seven.

Happy Wednesday friends!

Learn new things everyday, featuring Hip Kit Club

Hey guys!

Today, I’m sharing a layout I made for the Hip Kit Club Facebook page on Wednesday.  I used the June 2018 Hip kits.  This week we got to choose our own theme or product to focus on, and I chose the Pretty Little Studio journaling tags found in the Embellishment kit.  I thought they would be perfect to use on a school layout.

This is Ellie’s yearbook picture from the 1st grade.  (She will be going to 3rd grade, so I’m behind…ha!)

I started out by splattering color across the page with a couple Shimmerz from the June Color kit and Vicki Boutin paints that we got in last month’s color kit.  Once dry, I arranged the tags on the cardstock.  I filled in the tag with handwritten journaling, some Pretty Little Studio phrase stickers, and some stamps that we got in previous kits.

I added my title using the green Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers.  Then I machine stitched through the title and tags using colorful thread.  I added my photo, and some flowers around the photo.

I added the Bella Blvd floral paper at the bottom, and I also fussy cut a few flowers and adhered it to the top right and bottom left of the layout.

I am really happy with how my layout turned out!

I used the June 2018 Main kit, Project Life kit, Embellishment kit, Color kit, and the white cardstock from the Cardstock kit.

Zoo, featuring Scrapbook Circle

Hey there crafty peeps!

Today I have a layout on the Scrapbook Circle blog created using the July Smile More kit.  The alpha is from the July Laugh More add-on.

I finally got around to scrapbooking the zoo trip we took several years ago to our favorite zoo in Waco, TX, the Cameron Park Zoo.  I’m happy to have it done, and ready to go in the album!

The Perfect Day bear sticker is a Shimelle sticker which came in one of the past kits, but I just couldn’t help but put it on this layout…it’s perfect!

Stop by the Scrapbook Circle blog for more pics and info!

I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

Happy Saturday!

“Sugar & Spice” layout featuring Scrapbook Circle

Hey guys!  Today, I’m on the Scrapbook Circle blog with a layout using the June Now or Never kit.  For this layout, I am participating in the Take 2 challenge, where I scrap lift a previous Design Team member’s layout.

Here is what I created:  (stop by the SC blog to see what layout I was inspired by!)
