Hello crafty peeps! Today I’m sharing two cards that I made using Spellbinders’ March 2021 Large Die of the Month kit (LDOM) called Spring Together with Lever Pull. This kit comes with 24 dies that you can use to create fun interactive cards. This kit is perfect for Easter, spring, baby, and everyday cards like birthday.
For the first card, I decided to try my hand at the interactive element.
There is a video on how to put the critters and interactive elements together on the Spellbinders YT channel. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/VckKGCqUOD4 (copy & paste).
First I diecut all the pieces for the critters using my Platinum 6 die cutting machine. I put together the cute little lamb, chick, and bunny. Some of the pieces are really tiny, but I think it is so worth it…look how cute they turned out! I put a little bit of blush on their cheeks with Distress Oxide ink, and added a little highlight detail with a white gel pen.
Next, I worked on the background. I diecut a piece of blue cardstock using one of the Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics dies. I added some detail by adding a little bit of ink blending with Distress Oxide ink. I wanted the clouds to have a transparent quality, so I diecut the 2 cloud sizes from copy paper and vellum. I adhered the clouds to the background by adding a little bit of liquid glue to the bottom so the clouds would have dimension. I also flicked some white paint for that whimsical detail. Then, I worked on the grass pieces. I diecut 2 pieces of green cardstock using the same matting basics die, and added a little bit of ink blending with Distress Oxide ink. I then used the grass die to diecut the green panels. On the larger green panel, I used he interactive dies to put together the interactive elements. I followed the Spellbinders video tutorial to put together the interactive elements and attach the critters. I adhered that panel to the top of the sky panel with strategically placed foam tape. Next, I adhered the smaller green panel on top with more foam tape.
For the title, I diecut “hello peeps” twice from purple cardstock, glued them together for dimension, then adhered it to the top green panel. I glued the entire piece to an A2 white card base. This card is so cute!
I always like to make a birthday card with the kits, especially since those are the cards that I send out most. I decided to use the flower dies since I didn’t use it on the first card.
I diecut a lot of the flower pieces, then glued them together. Next, I arranged them on a blue cardstock panel that I diecut using the same matting basics die that I used with my first card. I adhered the flowers with liquid glue. Next, made a simple birthday sentiment piece using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system, the”birthday wishes” sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments II set, and Magenta foil. I adhered it to the panel with foam tape, then adhered the entire floral piece to a white A2 card base using more foam tape.
I absolutely love how these turned out, and I hope you do too! Make sure you head over to the Spellbinders site to check out this month’s Large Die of the Month kit, because it’s a good one!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a happy day!
