Pinkfresh Studio Ink Pad Release Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio Ink Pad release blog hop.  You should be coming from Jessica’s blog, and your next stop is Kelly’s blog.  If you get lost along the way, you can always go back to the Pinkfresh Studio Blog.  More details on the hop and giveaways will be outlined below.

I was so excited to find out that Pinkfresh Studio was coming out with ink pads that coordinate with their watercolors…even better when I found out that they were releasing mini ink pads.  These inks are so good guys!  They stamp beautifully, and their colors are perfectly vibrant!  There are 4 shades in each color grouping, which make them perfect for layered stamping!

Here is what I created for the blog hop:

I decided to use the brand new Home for the Holidays collection from Pinkfresh Studio.  I thought it would be fun to create my own pattern paper, so I grabbed one of my favorite stamp sets from Pinkfresh Studio, Lovely Blossoms, some white cardstock, and some ink colors that coordinated with the holiday collection.  I decided to do some tone on tone stamping for a subtle background paper.

Here are some swatches of the ink colors I used.  Swatched are the 4 pack mini ink cubes in Fairy Dust, Heartbeat, Morning Sky, Starry Night, Over the Hills, and Garden Stroll.

My favorite pattern paper is the red floral one, and I used the ink pad colors in Coral Reef, Passion Fruit, Berrylicious, and Meadow.  For the blue floral, I used the ink pad colors in Sky Blue and Storm.  For the green leaves image, I used the ink pad colors in Key Lime and Olive.

I also decided to get my sapphire watercolor out, and create an ombre watercolor pattern paper similar to the last card I made.

Once I stamped all the images, and my watercolor was dry, I decided to die cut a tag from each.

I love the look of a bright white layout, so I decided to use white cardstock for my background.  I smooshed a few of the ink pads on a craft mat, added some water, and splattered some color on the white cardstock.  I also used one of the small floral images from the stamp set and the red tone inks to stamp on my background.

I diecut the same tag shape from a few of the pattern papers from the holiday collection, as well as my Santa photo. Next, I arranged all the tags on my layout, and adhered them with foam squares.

I used various pieces of embellishments, like puffy stickers, diecut ephemera, stickers, and enamel dots to embellish some of the tags.

To balance off the layout, I added a strip of pattern paper to the bottom of my layout, and I adhered it with machine stitching.  I decided I needed something subtle at the top of the layout, so I used the scalloped pattern on my sewing machine and added a pretty scalloped border.  I decided to add a little bit of machine stitching to a couple of areas on my layout as well.  I finished off my layout with a few more embellishments at the bottom of my layout.

I love how my layout turned out, and I hope you do too!  Stamping you own pattern paper is so awesome, because you can use whatever ink colors to match the papers and embellishments that you are using.  Love it
