Treasure, featuring Altenew’s new Build-a-flower Larkspur set

Hello friends and welcome!  Today, I’m here to share with you a layout I made using the new Build-a-flower: Larkspur stamp & die set from Altenew.

Be sure to stop by the Altenew scrapbook blog and card blog for more inspiration and a chance to win one of six $30 Altenew gift certificates.  Also, leave a comment this blog post for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate!  I will be announcing the winner on my blog on 6/5/2018.

I decided to create a scrapbook layout this time using the stamps and die.  One of the great things about making your own embellishments is that you can choose the colors you want to make them.  I decided to make the flowers and leaves to match my girl’s shirt.

I started out by stamping the flowers and leaves using the guide on the back of the stamp set.  I wanted a softer image, so I decided not to use the outline stamp.  I used the Altenew Northern Lights Mini ink cube set, as well as some inks from my stash.  Then, I used the matching dies to cut out the images.

Next, I got a white piece of cardstock, and started laying things out to see where I wanted everything to go.  I added some ink splatters across the cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment title, which is from the Altenew Build-a-flower Sakura Blossom stamp set.   I drew some lines and added my journaling.

Next I trimmed the white cardstock, and added it to a piece of pattern paper from the Altenew Reflection scrapbook collection.  I machine stitched around all 4 sides, and roughened up the edges of the white cardstock.  I adhered the flowers and leaves that would be going under my photo on the left side.  Then, I backed my photo with another piece of pattern paper from the Reflection collection, and adhered the photo with foam tape.  I adhered my last flower and leaves with foam tape on top of my photo on the right side.

I added a few more embellishments, like enamel dots, an epoxy sticker, the cloud sticker, and the butterfly wood veneer, all from the Altenew Reflection scrapbook collection, to finish off my layout.

I love this cute stamp and die set!  The Build-A-Flower: Larkspur set includes 1 6×8 stamp set and 1 coordinating die set.  Here’s what Altenew says about this set:

Larkspurs belong to the buttercup family and are native throughout the Northern Hemisphere. The flowers bloom in a variety of colors from white to blue-violet. Larkspur flowers are irregularly shaped and bloom loosely along a vertical stem. This stamp set includes a five layer larkspur bloom, three-layer leaf, and 11 sentiment words. There are flower and leaf outline images included, which can be used with the layer images or on their own with different coloring mediums.

This special product is only sold as a set, not individually.

You can purchase a Build-a-flower: Larkspur & ink bundle set to save 5%.  (It is not available yet, but will be soon.)
