a set of Altenew Peony Blossom cards + a giveaway!

Today, I’m sharing a set of cards featuring the new Altenew Build-A-Flower Peony Blossom stamp and die set.  The set includes 15 stamps and 8 dies.

I made 2 cards with this stamp and die set.  On one card, I used both the stamp and dies, and on the second card, I used the dies only.  This set is so versatile, and can be used on a variety of cards and projects.

I used distress inks, and the sentiments are from the Altenew Build-A-Flower Sakura Blossom stamp and coordinating die set, which I featured in an earlier blog post.

Make today beautiful:

To make this card, I blended some various colors of distress inks on a big piece of white cardstock.  Next I die cut some flowers, stamens, and leaves.  Then I stamped the second layer of stamps with a slightly deeper ink on the flowers and leaves.  I put together the flowers with foam squares for dimension, and curled the petals and leaves.  I die cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock, and stamped my sentiment.  I adhered the florals, and popped the whole thing on a white card base with fun foam.  To finish my card, I added sequins and Nuvo drops for added embellishment.

I made this card the same way as the first, but I didn’t add the second layer of stamping.  I also added some gold ink splatters instead of sequins and Nuvo drops.

I really love how my cards turned out.  The set is great, but I love the dies especially.  They would be great on scrapbook layouts as well!

The Peony Blossom Build-A-Flower has a slightly different approach than our conventional Build-A-Flower sets. The stamp set has three five-petal flowers accompanied by a shading layer and a center layer. You may use these flowers as is, or layer them to create dimension. The matching dies will cut the flowers all the way to the edge without leaving a border. This will help in shaping the petals to the desired dimension when using a shaping tool (don’t have a shaping tool? You can use the domed end of a pen or pencil!). We included an additional flower die and stamen dies to help you create realistic blooms! Even though we named the set ‘Peony Blossom’ since the petals were loosely based on Peony petals, you can let your imagination run wild and create different types of flowers!
